Notable new releases yet to come?

Anybody who doesn't like Manilla Road is a fucking asshole, and I stand by this claim.

The first dozen times I listened to Portal I would always be confused afterwards. It always felt like I was on the verge of enjoying them, but still couldnt get over how odd the music was. After I bought Seepia and really made myself listen I started to appreciate them more.

alright, I half take this back

the '80s MR I've heard fucking BLOWS, and I don't really care to hear your counterpoints, but I'm checking out Atlantis Rising right now, and I have to say, it's crushingly heavy and ruling

What exactly have you heard, how many times have you heard it, and how long ago was it? If you like Traditional and Thrash Metal at all, there's really no reason to not like Manilla Road.

Although Im not really excited about it per say, the new Limbonic Art comes out Sept. 27. Not sure if anyone else around here is into them though honestly.

Wow, I'm very surprised that you would dig the latter stuff but not the earlier stuff. Just as Necuratul asked, what have you heard from the 80's era that isn't clicking for you? Not all of it clicks with me either, but I can definitely recommend The Deluge, Open the Gates & Crystal Logic.

neither The Deluge or Crystal Logic did a damned thing for me. sounds dated, and mediocre at best.

I'll revisit

The Deluge, Open the Gates & Crystal Logic.

Of those, CL is my fave. But let's face it, if the benchmark of 80's metal was set by Maiden, then where the hell do MR sit? I don't think being labeled a "cult US" metal act should award you bonus points and I think cult bands sometimes get a free pass.

Here seems to be the selection criteria of when to buy (in order of priority):

1. cult
2. USA
3. hard to find
4. fanbase of 200
5. popular in Greece
6. song quality
