Well when I just play normally I try to do it as clean as possible, by muting the unused strings in whichever way possible, both with the tapping and fretting hand I guess, haha. The tape just really helps for recording when you don't need the added hassle on top of trying to play as tight as possible.

lol isn't that wannabe doom metal stuff where they stretch a note out for 5 mins? can't stand it.... I know/knew a guy who's completely elitist about the genre (and he's a former diehard hardcore/slipknot fan nonetheless )
