EDIT: Thanks for the heads up Vern, i was actually " :yuk: -ing" whenver i used the term, i'll definately call it "mallcore" from now on

wow, im degraded to using the shitty metal station on launchcast, since my customized station ran out :ill: and wow, its plain fucking horrible, ALL it plays is nu shit like Mudvayne or some shit rap metal like "bloodsimple" (they suck so bad they dont deserve to be capitalized) im just pissed about it, because say a middle schooler is interested in this "metal" he/she hears about.....

hey, lets check it out at launchcast! that sounds like a great idea!.......Hmm, whats this? "bloodsimple"?.........i didnt know metal bands RAPPED  i think i'll just stick to my regular rap :ill:

see?! we lost another one! All thanks to fucking propoganda by big name companies like "Yahoo" :erk:

another thing.....they also like to call Thrash Speed metal, and they call Sodom Black Metal :ill: .....fucking disgraceful

Just a quick bit. The term nu-metal is wrong, that music (if you can call it music) is totally UNRELATED to metal. The term mallcore is the proper one for those bands and what they play.

Either way he's right!!! It seems like they ALL love the dick!!

Makes me glad there's a place like this for all the diehards who don't give up on the great music to try and be trendy by listening to the new shit!!

I get a kick out of the names. Why? It's either good or awful.
In defense of the Nu-Er bands, there are a handful that are doing something diferent than the rest of the pack... Also let's be honest here...
Some would have the same comments about Stratovarious, Hammerfall, Dream Evil, ect(all sounding the same).
Same with like a bands like In Flames, Soilwork, ect. & Poison, Warrant, L.A. Guns... If you're not into the genre, then you'll have choice words about most bands associated with the it. I happen to like bands for all the groups just mentioned. There are good & there is not so good...

I'm sure they are, but they're not for me  Same with death/black bands, a lot may sound the same, and some may shine above the rest, but again they're not for me.

My point was I don't feel the term metal should be used that freely related to those bands (again is my belief, not a generalization or a rule).

speaking of SOAD....they were on the radio too, and it was the first thing i had heard of them.....but i must say, after about 10 seconds of the song, i turn the volume all the way down, and rocked out to my handy Iced Earth cd i had with me, so i thank Ripper and the gang for saving me there

welll....to be fair, i do consider Sodom's debut EP "In the Sign of Evil" to be more early black metal than thrash metal, but that's just me.

Carry on. :)

I'm glad my Tastes emcompase pretty much all genre's of metal and their is a few Nu Metal albums that arent bad The First Sevendust was very good and Soil - Scars was good but I fucking hate rap so any band that does that Rap metal thing alot I cant handle Limp Triscut, Stinkin Fart I just dont care for em ... I like some Older Inflames but dont care for em since they turned into inFlamers and Soilwort doesnt do much for me either

I have to agree with JD here. I think that the Fist two Soilwork albums are still classic within their own right. But when they started that grunt-verse/clean-chorus BS they were dead to me. Any band that does that loses me as a fan. I simply hate that.

The thing is; since they started doing that they have been hyped by the media as the besting since white bread!!

As for Inflames, they hardly play any leads on their albums anymore. Another weak kneed attempt to be "modern" as far as I am concerned.

I don't really like all these terms myself. I like whatever I like. I don't care what it's called. I actually own most of the Korn catalog, I have a killswitch CD, some other newer stuff also. The one band that gets lumped in with this "mallcore" or whatever, is Shadows Fall and I just don't see it. They are pretty much a new thrash band. I really like these guys. Sometimes the singer screams a little to much but music wise they shred. The newer stuff on Headbangers Ball is pretty good music wise, but all the singers sound exactly alike. They just scream at the top of thier lungs for the whole song. I like some screaming, as I pretty much grew up on thrash but these bands singers sound horrible for the most part. I don't know, musically it's getting better, but the singing/screaming needs to change for me to enjoy this mall/metal/nu/whatever it's called this week core.

well, heh, guess i shouldnt have spoken so soon.....seeing as thats their only album i havent heard :hypno: But, like said before, everything's in the ear of the beholder

Musically SOAD is not bad but that goddamn Armenian Wedding Singer for a vocalist
gets on my nerves. The first cd was decent but the last 2 that whiny bocelli like
voice just ruins it for me. I like the new Soilwork cd. I think besides Mnemic their
Scandanavias answer to Fear Factory. I love In Flames maybe not too much leadwork
now but those riffs are still crushing! And the new Shadows Fall cd kills another few
bands that get lumped in that mallcore category that I disagree are Sinai Beach, Unearth and Still Remains. While Sinai Beach is def. more metalcore. Unearth and
Still Remains remind me of mid-nineties Swedish Death metal in the vein of Carcass'es
Heartwork and Hypocrisy. And Killswitch is the closest thing to emo that I own but
their music has hints of Black and Swedish death metal elements too. But that's
just an opinion. :Spin:

In the defence of System Of A Down I must say this.
Toxicity is a great album, I like it, I like it a lo..I can actually recomend it to those who haven't heard it yet, their other stuff are not so good, but listen to this one from beginning to end and then form an opinion. Do eet, do eet now!

OK now
