That name sounds familiar...who do they remind you of/sound like?
They were a Buffalo based rock/fusion band. All instrumental, late 80's early 90's for their recording career, they didnt quite make a national splash. They soldiered on with local gigs since, but with other lead guitar players who were also great but George Puleo had a thing about his playing I really like. Bruce Brucato was no sloutch either, just not as clean but still one of the main song writers. I couldnt tell you who they sound like, Im not fimiliar with post 70's fusion acts... I had actually thought fusion died when all the origional ones went more into latin and jazz.
All I can say Rams is if you like instrumental, fusion, rocking, jam based guitar improve stuff these guys will not let you down and you can land their out of print CD's cheap on ebay. I bought their first self titled ('87) around 88 or 89 after I heard one song on a college station. Now I just got this Aerial View which was their second... maybe '89 or '90 release. Their third "High Contrast" seems a bit more ellusive on Ebay but I will have it one day. They used a fair amount of effects on the guitars which gave them a somewhat interesting synth sound but I dont find it displeasing at all. It might have been harmonizers and other multiple effects. My SGX 2000 has a few presets that are close.
Heres a link, check the first song on the top right "Souveniers" for a studio recording. Others are live, many are Puleo some are with others. Down below where it says "videos/early years" has footage of the band with Puleo, some are not early yyears but are of a 20 year reunion. The short haired heavier guy in the Hawaiian shirt is the same long haired lighter Puleo seen in the early vids... lol. The boy can work the guitar and does it with the coolest attitude and a smile. Not bad sound quality, not great, sometimes mushy live when he gets wailing, and the cymbals/druns are a bit loud, oh well. The studio stuff is dead nuts. On the left side the "Gamalon Live '92" seems to be my favorite. Still the actual studio recordings are a must have. This Aerial View exceeded my expectations and was not more of the same, same band and basic sound but definantly not rehashing, great songs.
**ignore thier jungle beat jams, thats something the drummer and founder was into but there is only one song like that per album.
Satanstoenail is responsible for having sense enough to find this link on Myspace back when I posted about them on a fusion thread.
