Obsessed?

Naa darlin, you did a good thing. You shared your joy for AA with the rest of us! Don't let a few people taking the word "obsessed" to be too literal.

no worries, I didn't take it that way, as a matter of fact I totally agree with your previous post about superstars or whatever the term might be which to me there are very few that would get extra attention/respect out of me and I've been around some famous people never giving in, meaning showing any kind of interest in them ;) ,generally the ones that trully deserve respect are the ones you never hear of, ordinary people and not some Hollywood famed elements

Tomasz, i wasn't saying all that for you. Of all people here, you, Belgar, Tyra and other "older" AA fans who actually know them personally (or not), are the last people i'd call obsessed (that is if by "obsessed" we mean total nerd-fans). The fact that you got to see them many times doesn't make you obsessed indeed. I saw them every time I had the opportunity cause I know i'll have a good time. But some people seem to think of AA or of other bands as gods and superstars.. and I wasn't refering to you guys at all when saying that.

and for the others, don't think i'm refering to you either. i was just saying. sorry if i ruined the thread haha.

Would I sneak into one of the bands house and try and steal their underwear...naaa.

I would! But without the sneaking. I would just ask. Who would say no, really? If someone dared, I find ways to convince him.
Hey, can someone sneak into Johans house and steal his underwear? I pay well.

OK, now seriously :)
I am glad I am not obsessed (by Vilewomans definition) but just an avid fan. I really esteem good storytelling and the Edda. With those AA songs, both comes together. So I esteem Amon Amarth and their songs. I am grateful they exist and provide me and all the other fans with such adorable work.
Maybe I am not specificly "obsessed" with AA directly but with their work. I don't know, really... although I am not sure if I would manage to throw Johan out of my bed :loco: But that's just looks.
Seriously: Kudos to Amon Amarth! :worship:

Btw: Am I a bad fan if I was never on an AA concert yet?

Hey I was just trying to find some humor in the obsession word, dangnabbit!

Also, no way...I was a fan for more than 3 years before I got to see a show!! Doesn't make me any less of a fan.

if you live in Germany you probably should be thrown to prison for this atrocity ;), how could you have missed a performance which was recorded for a DVD where they nearly played their whole discography, something that most likely will not happen again unless you pay for a private show in your backyard, which btw I plan on doing when we come to an agreement on finances/alcohol $$$ ;)

Btw: Am I a bad fan if I was never on an AA concert yet?

How I have missed it? Simple question - simple answer: Missing money
Believe me. I was crying and jumping in circles when they played 20kms from where I live and I couldnt afford the ticket... was some "festival" promoted by Rock Hard and they managed to put up Amon Amarth, the trvest band on earth, with really very knapsu bands like Gamma Ray. Anyway, the ticket was way beyond what I could have afforted :zombie:
I thought of going there to at least have a look from outside but then I discarded the idea since I am no groupie (yea I had different view of this topic by then, I know it was stupid) and I had no clue where to search anyway... but by now I am every day trying to bite my back because I didn't go... just don't ask me why I didn't. Believe me, I could kick myself.

Maybe I will take my chances at the next tour (if there will be a gig not too far away). I am already saving money and there's chances for a new job, keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow. I hope I won't be punished by having to go like 100kms or so, although I would have deserved it.

But pain teaches best, it is said.

Damn girl, next time that happens, tell us...We'll start the Mistress of Runes needs to see AA fund, lol

Okay, I wouldn't say I'm obsessed, but for the past year, With Oden on Our Side has been the CD that's gotten the most play in my CD player in the car, occasionally being switched with Once Sent... Got Fate of Norns for Yule, which immediately got ripped to the computer, and put onto the MP3 player I also got for Yule. (Gods, I love my Dad.) Have also gotten to see them perform twice in the last year, and got to meet Johan Hegg after the show last year. Great guy. What's funny is I'm more of the old-school 80's metalhead, and never really cared for death metal much, since to me it sounded like most of the singers were vomiting up their lungs.
I was in a pagan chat room one night, and we were discussing metal music. One of the room members, knowing I had recently hooked up with a local Asatru Kindred and was learning more about the Norse beliefs, stated that I should check out this group called Amon Amarth, who's lyrics were about Norse Mythology and Vikings. Found their website, listened to Death in Fire, and was impressed with how good they were. Shortly after, I purchased Once Sent..., then got With Oden... when it came out. Also had some extra funds a few months back, and went out and got the Wrath of The Norseman DVD, which I promptly watched when I got home. (After sitting in traffic for like an hour) My GF comes out and asks me why I'm 2 hours late coming home from work, turns to see Johan windmilling on the bigscreen tv, and is like "Oh, that's why." LOL. What's interesting is she made me buy her a ticket to go see them when they played here last month.

You are so cute lol :) And yea i really NEED to see em...
I am gonna invite you all to my home and we have a f...ing good time together :kickass: After all you have to sleep somewhere because I will take you all with me!! No discussion.

Sweet I'll start saving for a trip to Europe, wee haw!

I dream of a trip to Europe. It's more the paid time off from work I need then the savings.
Thank you for the offer! Very sweet of you!

My home always has its doors wide open for Odins brave knights.
I already thought of putting up a sign on my door saying "Asgard" and a picture of Heimdal in front of the Bifröst. Unfortunately, i can't paint that well and a print wouldn't be the same.

Maybe we can meet in Sweden tho?

This is why I have to wait for paid vacation!! I want to Tour Europe!!!
Wanna go?

I have a sign on my door, it says
Please knock, then go screw yourself (Has the Happy Bunny Flipping the bird with two fingers)

We can go on horseback if you want, and sleep under Muspelheims sparks. I dream of doing that since I was a child. But let's go in summer, I tend to freeze when temperature falls below 18°C :( And we have to remember to take something with us that can play CDs or MP3s. It wouldnt be the same if we wouldn't take AA with us :) Or let's just ask the guys to come with us.
