October Falls - The Womb of Primordial Nature

Huh, really looking forward to these releases. It makes me sad to hear that you will carry October Falls to its grave but i think you have convincing reasons for that decision and i hope we will have the opportunity to listen to future releases of you under a different name (and maybe a different musical approach?).

Which label will release the 7"-Split?

edit: Just recognized that it is already available through www.deathstrike.de.

Well, the end is nowhere near yet, as I want to release 2 full-lenghts (not even written yet) after these announced releases are out and who knows, maybe that's not the end.

Yes, the split 7" seems to be available from Deathstrike now.

np: October Falls - Part III from "Might is Right - Nordic Warchants II" [2008]

Cool that you have the first song on the first cd.

Received your split yesterday. Your song keeps as always a high standard. I really dig the whispering part at the end and the overwhelming melancholic atmosphere.

On a side note:
The Sarastus Vinyl is now out and can be purchased through No Sign Of Life.

Great to hear, thanks a lot.

Sarastus 12" is indeed now out and the full-lenght most likely next month, so once again everything comes out at the same time.

EDIT - No Sign Of Life also released Primordial demo PicLP today!

So this time people in USA should not have a problem with weak USD, as Moribund will release this in US and it seems the release date is 08.26.2008. Hopefully nothing goes wrong and this will happen. The album will be released within few weeks in Europe.

Argh, i ordered that one directly at Debemur Morti but it seems like it got lost on the mailing route. That sucks...

Damn. If things don't workout next week (get a new copy or the post finally manage to reach you), PM me.

Eventually it has arrived yesterday! Phew. The german post is probably the most undependable bunch of people i've ever met.

First of all: The artwork is awesome. I really like these Digibook-packagings and in combination with the pictures you have taken for the booklet it really represents the mood for the album. It's also great that you printed the lyrics. I like this very metaphorical style of writing although i don't understand all of them. But am i right that the lyrics are about the loss of culture and the wrath of nature towards humanity?

I was pretty surprised when i heard your vocals the first time. I think they have highly improved compared to The Streams Of The End (which weren't all that bad on that one but somehow lacked of identity). The drumming of Marko really adds a lot of dynamics to the music although i have to say that the drumsound could be more... organic but that's maybe just me. To listen to this record is so much more than just listening to 4 tracks in a row... it's a journey through the deepest nature with it's rich mysteries and phenomenon... and that's something i have highest regard for!

Great to hear that it arrived eventually.

You're somewhat right about the lyrics, those themes are a big part of the whole album.

Thanks about the vocal-comments, I also thought they were much better this time. The drumsound is actually quite natural, nothing is trigged or fixed otherwise, but my lack of talent on mixing made it loose some of the original sound, so I know what you mean.

I'm maybe somewhat cosseted when it comes to drumsounds. I'm a drummer myself and pay a lot of attention to this. Do you know FEN's "Ancient Sorrow" MCD? In my opinion this is one of the best drums sounds for metal. I like these raw, thick and tinny snare sounds. It's a shame that it's common nowadays to
eliminate all the harmonics. The drums and especially the snare have to sing... but i'm pretty alone with this attitude.

But don't get me wrong. The drum sound of your new CD doesn't disturb the joy of listening but i think it's capable of improvement.

I may have missed this, is there a US distro selling this? I'm putting together a haul and want to include this.

Most likely not many will, as it will released in US (as jewelcase) by Moribund. Their site mentions the date to be 08.26.2008. I actually just fixed the coverart for it.

Thanks a lot about the comments. Personally I'm 100% happy with the result, most likely the best work I've done so far (the latest is always the best, haha). Hopefully I manage to get the same lineup for next album also, a lot of it is already written, but because of some personal issues it will take some time before I have a change to record it. However, it's a great thing that there's no rush this time to get it done.

I downloaded this album because I cant wait any longer to get the US release, and dear god I love it. Without a doubt buying this
