Odd Band combinations

Kayo Dot:
Toby Driver - voice, guitar, cello, bells, double-bass
Greg Massi - guitar
John Carchia - guitar
Tom Malone - Percussion
Mia Matsumiya - Violin, viola, bells
Ryan McGuire - bass, double-bass
Forbes Graham - trumpet, euphonium, guitar
D. Thomas Murray - live sound engineering and samples

ive read all the way through this and as a bass player i dont see the point of 2 in a band, with guitars as well, unless they are really shit bass players. Correction for earlier, Slipknot has 1 drummer and 2 percussionists. Cant think of any bands that havent been mentioned so far: Iron Maiden has 3 guitarists.

Thanks man, that cheered me up :). I hadn't seen that chicken in like 5 years. Ah...

On a different note... what exactly IS the difference between drummers and percussionists? I never understood that.

Drummers play drums. Percussionists play percussion instruments, which include things like xylophone, timpani, various drum and hitting note instruments, etc. You have a percussionist featured in classical music, not a drummer.

Of course in the case of Slipknot, it means exactly what the above poster said it means.

in the norcal scene

a thrash band called nephilim have 3 guitarist. and a crappy nu metal band called thend have 2 drummers
