Ich wohne in Boston, USA, aber meine Eltern sind aus Deutschland. Ich will mein Deutsch nicht verlernen. Hoffentlich kann ich es in diesem Thread ein Bisschen ueben. Leider weiss ich nicht, wie ich auf meinem Komputer Umlaute machen kann. Also, wer hier spricht Deutsch?

Hey Life Sucks, dein Deutsch ist ziemlich gut.. mit das beste was ich bis jetzt von Nicht-Deutschen im Internet gelesen habe :)
Im CoB Forum gab es mal einen German Thread, aber der ist irgendwann untergegangen weil die meisten von der Invasion der argentinischen und brasilianischen Spamkinder einfach zu angepisst waren.. und so ist der German Thread zusammen mit dem Niveau des CoB-Boards untergegangen... traurig, traurig...

also mal wieder ein german thread...hatte vor ein paar Monaten auch schon mal einen gestartet, ging aber auch relativ schnell unter. :D

Hmmmm good question.
Id say it depends on how this person talks about it. I dont think Germans feel guilty anymore for what happened back then, only because they descend from the people who are or were. I mean Hell, my Grandfathers were 7 and 4 years old when Hitler was 'elected' Chancelor, and only the elder took part in the war, as Flarak antiaircraft artillery assistant, carrying amunition to the guns, when he was 15 or 16.
It still is a touchy subject Id say and there are a lot of monuments for the victims of the Holocaust, and there are still new ones being built, like the one in Berlin that went under construction this summer. I think it's a good thing that we're trying not to forget about what happened. Being conscious about your own past and learning from it is a wise thing to do, if I dare say that :)

funny this thread and topic is coming up now... I've been reading some interesting pages today about neo-nazism and all that misusing of pagan symbols. nothing new, I know. but i didn't think it was that bad... there's hardly any symbols left that are not misused for sick ideologies... :(

Also das Wetter war in Boston diesen Sommer zum grossen teil ziemlich schlecht. Es hat viel geregnet, und es war oft verdammt schwuel und heiss. Die lezten paar Tagen waren eigentlich ziemlich angenehm, aber es war bewoellkt.
