So, I'm taking the plunge. I'm going to audition for my church's band.

Twenty-four years on the guitar, and I've never played in a band... that's creepy.

Even if it's "just a church band", I'm incredibly shaky about the whole thing.

Do it man, once you get comfortable theres nothing better than a band, regardless the style. A band is the best brotherhood their is, the learning curve involved with brothers can be a challenge but wonderful things occur when the minds finally meet.

 I'm sure his local convent has a position vacant for the church rock band... not... :p

Do it man, they're great fun, reasonably simple music, and pretty non-threatening audience to start out with...

I will play the intro to Out of the Ashes for my audition. And since the pastor and his wife are Boston fanatics, I'll bust out Foreplay/Long Time. That will secure me a spot, I'm sure. But the Out of the Ashes may make them think I'm too much of a showoff. So then they'll be in a huge conundrum...

No answer from Lasse :(

I can't figure this out. i'm late to work by about 2 minutes just about every day because it's too goddamned hard to get up in the morning. Yet last night i go out boozing with my buddy, went to the casino, got in at 2 and had to wake up at 6:30, and i am at work 10 minutes EARLY. wtf???

I feel like shiiiiiiiiiit :(

I think the lesson is, go out and get fucked up a few hours before work!

You could always take a few shots of Nyquil at around 9 pm. That's what I used to do because, for some reason, I could never sleep more than 4-5 hours a night. Still can't..

I think you're on to something. it was really awesome going to the casino and getting enough money to cover my drinking expenses. If i was more of a gambler, i'd do that more often and lose my ass. But instead i think i'll just go ahead and keep on not gambling.

Maybe it's because you didn't have enough time to get into really deep sleep, which is harder to wake up from..

Or maybe I'm full of it.

Actually that's true. The most realistic and involved dreams happen in cycles of 90 minutes, during REM sleep. Which is the fourth stage of sleep. If you get woken up during REM sleep you will feel more tired than if you woke up during the first or second stage. Or something like that.

but that's only one I after the k...

here's the reason i even bring it up. There's a song called Kaiku by moonsorrow (which even people who don't like moonsorrow should check out... awesome fucking mellow acoustic song). The title translates to "echo" and the line is:

kiirii laulu isien kaikuna ain
laulu isien kaikuna ain

which translates to:

the song of our fathers echoes

I was just curious what kiirii translates to because I don't understand what impact it has on the phrase which is repeated sans "kiirii".

I don't know if i make any sense either, so hopefully.... whatever.
