Official Off Topic Thread

This shouldn't need clarification, but:

-criminals with no concern for the safety and well-being of anyone or their property in possession of weapons that they intend to use:

bad...not to mention completely unnecessary

-police with riot sticks, pepper spray, and gas to use against said criminals when they start putting everyone around them in danger

a necessary reaction that the dumbfucks have brought upon themselves

I don't ordinarily condone violence, but these people have brought it upon thesmelves...begging for it even. The only thing I'd enjoy more than seeing these assholes beaten is the chance to take a few shots at them myself.

I don't mind protests, but as soon as the common dude trying to get to work, home, school, etc. has to worry about damage to his personal property, or hit in the face with a jar/cup of piss, the gloves come off. I have no problem with the cops using even a little excessive force in those situations. If that common dude/dudette gets clubbed, then that has to be dealt with as well.
I learned a LONG time ago that if there's something going down, and the police are raiding the area, you don't get beat if you vacate the area. Hang around, mix in with the idots, cause trouble, talk shit to the cops, then I hope you get clubbed. Getting clubbed hurts. Hope they learn a lesson. Buncha fucksticks, I say...

+1,000,000 right back at ya

We actually saw a guy on the elevator going back into my friends' building who had gotten some gas in his eyes. I asked him what happened and he said, "i wanted a good view of those dumbasses getting gassed and didn't move out of the way in time". I hope the sight was worth it:lol:. I have no intention of leaving my apartment this week because I don't want to get stuck in a bad situation that these people are causing. I'm going to stock up on food tomorrow, and after that my only worry will be going to work on wednesday and thursday. I have to walk clear across the downtown area in the middle of the day so we'll see how that goes.

+5,000,000..... that is exactly how I feel about people coming across the border keeping our working class wages at levels 2 decades low... that is exactly how I feel about corporate officers that have sent our jobs across borders.... that is exactly how I feel about our one way government officials, just to name a few

funny how that works though

To go on different topic: Hey Kenneth, I think I remember you saying you listen to some Mostly Autumn. What do you think of the new album?

Saw some folks from the Westboro baptist church today. There was a video I saw earlier of them at the xcel center clashing with a group of gay anarchists in fairie costumes (not saying that in the derogatory sense...I mean actualy fairy costumes with wings and wands).

Those assholes picketed a soldiers funeral by me not too long ago.

here we go again, blame the Mexicans for our problems.

well Ken, what would you know about it... really ? It will never be a concern of yours, you are free of it, however that does not mean it does not exist and it certainly doesnt mean its not true.

here we go again, blame the Mexicans for our problems.

Even Helen Keller would be able to see that it's a problem. Ever see how much shit the illeagals leave out in the border areas? While both the people that hire them, & the illegals themselves are to blame, I feel there is no way you can dismiss the "illeagal" out of the equation.

"legal"/illegal, either way I dont care. One crosses the border and has a baby then its automatically a US citizen. Feed off our SS money, you file law suits, strap our hospitols (not that I feel sorry for them, we know how they make up for it... hello), drag down our school systems, work construction jobs for 1980's wages. Its not just south either, lots of job loss in NY unless one wants to work for less than they earned in the mid 90's... which wasnt enough... try it, you'll like it. Its not personal against people from any of the countries, its just the truth and its something worth taking personally by those effected, which in many cases I mentioned is the entire tax and insurance paying country.

Too much prog, not enough folk. What happened to the atmospheric attitude? For All We Shared, Last Bright Light, Spirit of Autumn Past, even to some degree Heart Full of Sky... that's the real shiz.

I have nothing against Mexicans crossing for better jobs. Living the American dream, as it were. If they want to do the same work for less money and you bitch about it, blame wonderful capitalism. If they don't want to pay taxes, blame your state governments. I used to live in California, so yes actually, it DOES affect me and I DO know about it. Did you know that by deporting all the illegals, you would pay a hell of a lot more at the supermarket? Turns out, nobody would pick strawberries or whathaveyou for what they get paid. High and mighty Americans think better of themselves, but capitalism shoves it back in their faces: Without them, a lot of the food goes spoiled and unpicked. Which means, you pay more for it to be a snob.

Oh, and people whine about how much money is lost to illegals who take up those jobs (the same jobs these people swear they would NEVER do because they don't pay enough- capitalism in the ass again) but they fail to realize that the cost of "solving" the problem, ie. building a 'great wall of mexico' and making our foreign relations drop yet another rung, would cost a shitload of money. So, we spend a lot of money to stop ourselves from losing money because people took the opportunity to take the jobs we bitch we are too good to do. Oh yeah, a real no brainer there.

I'm kind of conflicted about the wall idea...on one hand it would be nice to have some kind of physical barrier so anyone can't just walk over...yet what good is a barrier if you don't patrol it. I think we need to pull back a bunch of our military presence around the world and station those troops here at home along the borders...why not, they'd be closer to their families, would actually be keeping us more safe than by being thousands of miles away, and they themselves would probably be safer. Just a thought.

And a good thought Icedog

Ken the excuse of people not wanting to do the jobs is lame. Many are willing to do the work, its the damn little pay part thats appauling to them or even more important, financially impossible. Three summers ago I worked a framing crew, for $11 an hour, I was happy with the work, brutal as the sun was but I was going backwards financially at an alarming pace and I dont have the bills common in this country. Today I couldnt possibly travel to the burbs for the paycheck involved and there is no lack of money amounst developers, they cashed in big time but offered little to those getting the job done. In many cases our so called and once coveted "American dream" is only available to immigrants who are willing to live with multiple familys in one house and all travel to the same job in the same van, I am unaware that this is the American dream. In reality its nothing but a smoke screen. Im not one of the ultimate consumer Americans and find no appeal in cheap products at the expense of low wages. THen the cost of shipping and packaging excedes that which the producer recieves for the product in far too many instances. Sure blame capitalism but why allow that which feeds its abusive nature at the cost of natural born citizens.

 Right then, so we close our borders and emulate North Korea. Cheerio.

Steve: Are YOU willing to do that job? Picking berries in thorny bushes in 110F heat, for less than minimum wage? If not, then shush.
