Why is it that we insitinctively determine anothers intelligence by how much they agree with our own opinions and views? Do you find someone that argues the opposite point to you in something that matters to you to be less intelligent in your eyes?

I think its basically b/c people are afraid of what they dont know/understand. Lets just face it, people dont like to be wrong, and when other peoples views clash with what they believe is the 'truth' they are going to do everything they can to tell you other wise. I dont think someone is less intelligent b/c they dont agree with me, just ignorant .
