If you only allowed 5 cds to listen to for the rest of your life, which ones would you choose?

Mine would have to be

ENCHANT(a blueprint of the world)

LEMUR VOICE (divided)

GREYHAVEN (greyhaven)

DREAM THEATER (images & words)

EMPTY TREMOR (Eros & Thanatos)

Boy that was seriously hard!! Had to leave some great ones out:cry:

Symphony X:
1) Paradise Lost
2) Twilight in Olympus
3) The Divine wing's of tragedy
4) Odyssey
5) The new Mythology Suite

Yes i do like other bands besides Symphony X, like Dream theater, Pink Floyd, Epica, and Kamelot, but imo Symphony X is better and i would prefer these 5 CD's to any others!

Redragon

Armored Saint - Symbol of Salvation
Tom Waits - Mule Variations
Common Rotation - isalie
The Temptations - The Ultimate Collection
Symphony X - The Odyssey

I think I'd go crazy living the rest of my life with only metal CD's. I would feel like all music was yelling at me. Not that Tom Waits makes that any different...

But what about a bit of variety?

Hmm..

Planet X - Moonbabies
The Flower Kings - Unfold the Future
Anekdoten - A Time of Day
DT - Scenes From A Memory
SX - V

How about 5 CDs full of MP3 albums!?:)

Only 5 CDs for the rest of my life? Hmmm.

The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Therion - Gothic Kabbalah
Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness
Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors
Then for the last album I don't know. Maybe some classic rock or Enslaved/Emperor.

Augury - Concealed
Arsis - A Celebration Of Guilt
Death - Symbolic
Gojira - Terra Incognita
Quo Vadis - Day Into Night
Cynic - Focus
Lykathea Aflame - Elvenefris

I couldn't get it down to five. :erk:

I've given this some thought, but it's really hard one. It would have to be pretty variable little collection, and as many double CD's as possible. Propably two or three heavier albums, two more mellow ones, maybe some folky stuff there and one wild card. But I really wouldn't know which albums to pick.

1) The Beatles - White Album
2) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Street Survivors
3) The Dregs - Unsung Heroes
4) Steve Vai - Passion & Warfare
5) Freak Kitchen - Dead Soul Men

That was actually pretty easy..... :)

Third Eye Blind - Blue
The Future Sound Of London - Dead Cities
Marillion - Seasons End
Dark Tranquillity - Character
Zero Hour - The Towers Of Avarice

that was easy.

it's not that easy...

- Opeth: My Arms, Your Hearse
- Symhony X: V: The New Mythology Suite
- Ayreon: Into The Electric Castle
- Tool: 10,000 Days
- The Levellers: Zeitgeist

Symphony X - The Divine Wings Of Tragedy
Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain
Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Katatonia - Brave Yester Days (which I know is cheating, since it contains stuff from their first two albums combined, plus other demos)

hmmm,
Dream Theater- Scenes From A Memory
Symphony X- V
Flower Kings- Unfold The Future
Neal Morse- Testimony
Planet X- Moonbabies

 That's almost exactly the same as noble savage, at least we wouldn't fight about what music to play if we were stuck together... :p

Symphony X - Divine Wings
Metallica - And Justice..
Iced Earth - The Dark Saga
Some compilation album of some of the best recordings of classical works
Compilation album of the best pop hits of the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's
