Much has been written about the connection between Opeth albums and the seasons, with each album representing a distinct seasonal mood, e.g. Blackwater Park = autumn, Deliverance = winter, and so on. An equally profound, if perhaps less obvious, connection exists between the Opeth albums and the various biomes. Consider the following list -

deliverance - tundra
morningrise - taiga
still life - temperate coniferous forests
mayh - flooded grasslands and savannas
orchid - xeric shrublands
bwp - boreal forests
damnation - temperate grasslands
ghost reveries - wetlands
watershed - riparian

The next time you happen to be hiking northward through the boreal forests of northern Kazakhstan, time your iPod playlist so that BWP ends and Morningrise begins just as you enter the tiaga. The correlation between the physical and auditory landscapes will no doubt be striking and profound.

Gonna get some nice landscape photos, put them on a slideshow exposed thru a projector and hit that bong. While blasting the 'peth discography. This thread receives my kudos.
