Opeth Car Sticker anyone?

I've seen an Opeth car sticker in Sydney.

Someone was driving around concord (near where I live) with it on the rear window

Kiddy´s just look on eBay for someone who is obviously selling metal car sticker and then ask him. I did that to....and the third one was able to do it. Now iam driving with my wreck of a car through town with a really large Opeth Logo on the rear window......kinda cool ;P

@lord agathon: I did check ebay, but I didn't find anything useful... I'll have another try. Any useful advice on where to look?

Hm the logo files that exist on the net are of too low quality to make such a big sticker. Youd "just" need to vectorize the logo, and dont need a font.

What does "vectorize" mean? I'm sorry if I'm asking stupid questions... I'm not that familiar with editing pictures...

Just another method for a computer to draw a picture...Rather than with pixels which become distorted and nasty upon enlargement. Vectors can be scaled without losing quality.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Shockwave Flash utilize vector graphics?

Either way:

pixels = nasty when stretched
vectors = nice at any size

guinness: no offense taken. i have *my own* idea of the average american its probably the same as yours. there really are a bunch of rednecks here and especially in the great state of tennessee (blakmetalemp might agree). yet, im sure there exists a parallel in europe and elsewhere.
i agree with you about bush and progressiveness. he has thoroughly embarassed america in relation to the rest of the world but i dont think hes going to make it through the elections in november. too many people are sick and tired of his smarmy, in-your-face bullshit. keep in mind, we never really elected him president in the first place. he just took office and noone did anything about it.

@dorian gray: sadly enough there IS a european equivalent for the american rednecks. these ignorant dont-give-a-f***-about-politics-because-its-too-difficult 'europeans' vote for stupid racist parties.

Back to the car sticker now: a friend vectorized the logo for me, and it does look a lot smoother now. now what's the best way to do it: go to a specialised shop and have it printed on vinyl and pay way too much for it, or try to print it on a sheet of vinyl myself with the risk of it looking really crappy? and that vinyl every body keeps talking about: is that adhesive or do you have to use glue or anything....??? Are there any well known brands of vinyl???

You need a special printer... a cutter... that cuts the vinyl in the vectored design. Like the one that Alpha posted a pic of. Get it done professionaly... its worth it.

They make Opeth car stickers. I got a nice one on my truck. They sell them at a store around here called Metal Devastation that only sells death and black metal albums and merch.

it's been hanging on the inside of my rear window for over a year now and it feels good to know that we're the only two who have it on our cars *gna gna*

I had a freind make mine, it is pretty sweet. I was going to have a company do it for me for like 10 bucks i could get 2 stickers that were 8x12 or something like that. All you would have to do is send them a pic of their logo and they will approximate the cost of the thing.

Pretty nice if you are in a graphics class for school and can so it there. The old Dimmu logo is sweet on a car.

As long as you don't get rid of Bush, Europe will remain more progressive, I guess... not all European countries are that progressive, though...
The fines for speeding can go as high as three month's salary...
Even when there is absolutely positively noone on the highway(with 4 lanes), they WILL "take your picture" with their rotten hidden speedcameras, even in the middle of the night (all our highways are very well lit at night, no danger at all you see) In school areas and busy city centres I agree, you shouldn't speed there
About the cars, high prices forced constructors to build better engineered cars, and not simply rely on the "cubic inches", but here in Europe as well, people are buying more and more pickup trucks and "people carriers", and I don't like that either, their clogging up the roads.
I like my windows to be tinted, but I also like to still SEE through them, especially in busy city traffic, so my windows are just slightly tinted

And ramble on all you want, it's the first time ever I've talked to an American before and maybe you can help change the image I have(and 99% of the Europeans with me) of the "average American"... no offence...
besides, everyone who likes Opeth is a friend of mine

the GIF-file i got from blackmetalemp was far better than this one you proposed, sorry mate but thanks anyway :Spin:

a friend of mine increased the number of pixels in the GIF 4 times and turned it into a JPEG
then he made all the edges smoother


then we went to a sticker maker and its now 40cm by 50cm (16 by 20 inches, i think...) (I think he had to turn in into a GIF-file then, not really sure ...)

cutting it out wasn't necessary, the guy who made the sticker had a machine that did that for him

we also mirrored the logo, so it would go on the inside of the rear window, safe from the rain and the wiper

if anyone wants this logo, i'm hosting it on my webspace, for now...
