Opeth / Enslaved: Which is your favourite?

enslaved hasn't really struck me as anything special yet.

Opeth is bound to win here, although Enslaved are still amazing (isaaaaaaaaaa!). Why doesn't someone post this is an enslaved forum? Better yet, in an impartial forum.

Enslaved have written one of my favorite psychedelic/black metal songs of all time tho'...Return to Yggsdrasil. That song is

Opeth are a brilliant band. It's going to be really interesting to hear what they create next. But, I can't seem to go more than a week without listening to Enslaved, and I have their whole cataloque. To have heard them evolve and to push their musical boundaries over and over has been a great ride for me. I still am completely blown away every time I realize Ivar was only 16 when he did "Vikininglgr Veldi."

Enslaved has good ideas but I think they fail to pull it off.

Their production values are deficient, the playing is decent but nothing extraordinary, drums sound and drumming are quite lame.

Their growling voices are ok and clean voices are meh.

But they are creative (some tracks have incredible potential but it never takes off for me except for some of the epic tracks) even if a black metal version of King Crimson maybe wasn't such a good idea in the first place.

I only listened to the last 4 albums.

Dunno nothing about their black/vicking era.

But my choice stands : Michael Bay over Enslaved.

P.S : Asking on the Opeth forum if people prefer Opeth over Enslaved is like asking on the Britney Spears forum if people prefer Britney over Paris Hilton.
