Opeth isn't a metal band anymore????

sometimes i don't understand people.
listen to opeth and ask yourself: is this metal? apart of damnation, which was an experiment, it IS metal.
 
First of all, mike said that CURRENT METAL don't attract him.
And, what the fuck does have to do with opeth being or not metal?????????
 
^if you were listening to Rap, and then u switch to metal and form a band? what would u play? Metuuuul or Rap?!
I think mike was a metalhead,yet he still plays metal ! and hearing him saying things like : this album (Zombies-Odyssey and oracle) is the reason why i wrote Watershed, makes me wonder how he could be inspired by such album to write Watershed ! I love that.

i think this is the problem with "watershed".mike is not a metalhead anymore and he is trying to stay at his roots...and this is the reason y ghost reveries and watershed are whithout feelings.it seems clear that opeth produce "evil" music and we all know that mike isn't "evil".

btw i don't care if the next album will be no-metal.but i don't want to listen another heavy-evil album. :Smokin:

Well, Ghost Reveries is my favorite Opeth album. Without feelings?
Hmm...But then again I would mind if they lost some more of the metal and went in more directions.

i like ghost reveries too and i want opeth stay a death metal band but on the other side i think opeth have lost that "autumn feeling" they had which get me into their music.in other words if you are not an evil person u can't write evil music imo and father-husband Mike isn't a dark person of course.

ps : i really wonder if u understand what i'm saying :goggly:
 
Lol define a evil person? someone who is doing the things that he is writing about? or just have thoughts about? I bet the latter is the thing that fits Mike the best, he can still have those kind of thoughts, yet mixed in with his family of course as he states they are important to him.
 
Evil person would be one that does not wish anything good on others, doesn't matter what he's doing, all that matters is what person feels in his heart.

No one is purely evil, and I don't think anyone is purely good.
 
i said my opinion.i don't believe mike is writing lyrics only because he has to write something.every musician contains in his music personal feelings and thoughts.for example Melinda!
