Opeth... Metal... Progressive... Hiphop?

The title is a joke. But has anyone else noticed that Opeth employs alot of "Death Row" West Coast hip hop grooves? Listen to To Rid The Disease... Namely the verse. But I suppose that comes more from Jazz influence? Probably the same things Dre was listening to in the 70s.

Another example... the infamous drum and bass section of Baying Of The Hounds. Always creepy, always dark, but always with a groove. Just an observation. I'm sure I'll be called a poser or something :)

they should make a video of to rid the disease, with mike driving in a lowered el dorado throwing up gang signs with steven wilson in the passenger seat with a do rag on and girls in thongs shaking their ass in front of the cameral..that would be tight:hotjump:
