Opeth Riff Thread - Part 3

yea, the people on the forums said they usually do a tour in the US, then go overseas, and come back and do the other half of the US, then who knows what after. so maybe ill get lucky and have the opportunity now that im in college and i dont have parents to tell me what to do :D

i got my ticket to see :hotjump: SLAYER :hotjump: ....the sunday before finals week, but fuck that they're playing with MASTODON and killswitch engage....i'm excited :D

i've seen slayer 3 times, so i didn't really wanna go see em on this tour. plus i have one of their live dvds, and double live album, i've had enough for now haha. also, they're not as impressive as they were years ago. i do however, wish i could have experienced one of their shows in the 80's, fuckkk, that would be so incredible. i say after this album, they call it quits, if they know whats good for em.

Wow, this thread dropped down quite a bit.

Moonlapse, got some bass recorded for your Benighted bit (finally). I'm not a great bassplayer, nor do I have a great setup (really small shitty amp), but atleast you can get an idea of how your recording would sound with bass.

http://us.share.geocities.com/arjensdump/sound/benighted2.mp3

I also have an unprocessed bassfile for you if you want, sound is pretty crappy without some effects 'n stuff. In the above file, I used some EQ and Amplitube to thicken the sound a bit. Hope you like it!

Wow, nice, thanks alot man. I was actually just going to comment on that file, because in about 2 days my friend is bringing over his acoustic, so I can actually do the backing stuff properly.

The single bass file would be great though, until I can get my mate over with his sexy bass-devoted rig. If you ever get around to putting it up, just email it to me over at ermin.h@gmail.com

Or if that fails, just put it up.

I just send the file to you in MP3. Or would you rather want a WAV file? If so, just tell me, but since this is probably only a 'temporary solution', I don't think the small quality loss is too bad. If you want the WAV anyway, no problem.

with geocities you have to copy and paste the link into your browser. sorry, I should've announced that.

I'll give soundclick a shot, but there is a reason I've never liked those hosts. They usually want to authenticate the files, and don't like it when you copy other bands and shit...

The background ambient stuff in the file isn't actually a sample. It's an overdub over the actual guitar part, with alot of psyche flanger and delay on it giving a really trippy sound. I had to take down the bass alot on that track so it wouldn't overshadow the guitar part you're meant to hear.

Yeah I know about that. It's not like this is the first time you post on this thread.

Oh and why not apply a sticky on this thread, or have an official riff thread stickied instead of starting a new one every once in a while, that would be nice.
