Opeth Tour (Not SOTU-related. Really.)

Moonspell sucked so bad when i saw them, but it might be because of where i was standing because i swear i couldnt here anything that their metal looking guitarist was playing. I personally think Devil Driver was alot better (although that dudes vocals were pretty weak).

The only bands from roadrunner i would enjoy Opeth touring with would be Earth Crisis or Trivium.

If they were to tour with anyone i would love to see them with Nile, Morbid Angel, Behemoth, or maybe even Deicide :s

Morbid Angel does kick alot of ass, I've seen them nearly ever single time they have played in Minn. since i can remember.

lamb of god is headlining the SOTU tour, and as you know opeth is on it haha. LoG does rule, i dunno why they get shit. i've seen em once, they were great, can't wait to see em again.

Assuming that following the release of their new album Opeth will be touring with some of their labelmates, what is the best-case scenario?

I say co-headlining with Jerry Cantrell in support of his forthcoming solo material.

Let's not get into worst-case scenarios.

Opinions?

That would be awesome. Jerry Cantrell's last solo double album "degradation trip" is one of my favorites of all time. There is one problem with the scenario of Opeth and Jerry Cantrell. Roadrunner Records fucked over Jerry and dropped him from the label even after Jerry put a lot of his own money into the album. I don't understand why they do that to talented acts that even have name recognition that should make everyone plenty of money. I hope that the deal with Opeth works out.

i didn't know JC had been dropped. why is he still on the artist list at roadrunner's site? fucking idiots. well, i guess he's doing this 'cardboard vampyres' project now anyway, which i'm not really all that excited about. i guess i'll let the opeth/jc dream die.

i like 'degradation trip' as well, but it's the b-side of 'boggy depot' that i dig, with les claypool on the bass.

back to the quo vadis/enslaved/opeth line-up then.

Yeah, I thought it was strange too that Jerry is still listed. I know I read about him being dropped a long time ago, but maybe it was a false story on blabbermouth.
