Pantera!

I never liked Slayer, I don't even think they're that good. In fact I think it's embarassing that Kerry King has been playing guitar for more than 20 years and he still hasn't learned how to play a decent solo.

i res[ect slayer but i have never been able to get into there muisc,i like a handful of songs, pantera on the other hand were and thought of at the same level i think of anthrax, pantera kept and rejuvenated metal while it was dead and buried...

Pantera I say, the riffs and guitar playing were better, and kerry king still can`t play a decent solo..just like whammy bar stuff like the end of raining blood..that just suck..dime owned

mmm two fo my favourite bands. I think dime was probably as good as hanneman and king put together but yeah. slayer, just for the relentless speed metal they put out in their prime.

lol, they were just kids when they started out, nothing to be ashamed of,how many bands actually get heavier as time goes by?

True, that´s one thing I never liked about Pantera. Slayer spooke about the fruity Van Halen-outfits and the not so good production while Pantera claimed to the end that "Cowboys" was the first album.

SLAYER SLAYER SLAYER SLAYER, what is this shite about king not being able to play good solos, i ask you this have you heard slayers first album? "show no mercy" Track Number 9 "Crionics" listen to this song then tell me that king cant play solo's.

Oh yeah and the dude who said the end of raining blood whammy bar stuff aint a good solo, guess what, your right coz it aint classed as a fuckin solo, its just noise and thats what its classed as in the album booklet

You're right. King had an okay solo that one (1) time you mentioned.

I did vote for Slayer, even if all their "solos" sound the same. I just prefer Slayer over Pantera. I love Pantera too though.

they did talk about past in interviews and stuff,u would have to agree that cowboys was the record where it all came together,i would love vinnie to release all the old records properly, they really paid there dues and busted there balls to get to the top, what an achievment.

Slayer.

Pantera were a damn good band, but a stack of people on here will be nostalgia voting for them due to the 'Dimebag being Dead' factor winning by default.

Slayer may not play the best solo's - but since when did solo's make a song??? Besides, if you all want to split hairs... didn't Kerry 'he who cant play a solo for toffee' King, do a guest solo on Pantera's Reinventing The Steel album??? Goddamn Electric... and didn't Pantera even go as far as to exhalt their band name in the very same song?

So by this deduction, I guess Pantera would be retards for digging & promoting Slayer & letting someone with no talent play on their album?

I think it's obvious who wins this one... regardless of any Kerrang based votes to the contraray.
