If i remember correctly, you fought that evil sorceress....the name is Ultim-somethin....in a couple different incarnation and you also fight that thing that's supposed to be Squall's GF/summon...it's a lion or something like that.

I haven't played that one in a couple years either. I played through X again earlier this year, just finished Chrono Trigger again a couple months ago, and now I'm playing FF II (SNES emulator FTW). I just with I had as much time for video games as I did when I was like 13.

Yeah, i think it was... but wasn't that a really weak battle? I remember the last battle being fucking gay. Though most final battles in FF games are once you get past FF3 (FF6 jp)

And are we talking FF2 us (which i believe is FF5 jp)? That one was pwn as well.

Yeah, it was a pretty lame battle if I remember.

I used to know which FF was which when going between US and Japan versions, but those days have passed. The FFII I am playing has Cecil as the main character who is going after crystals and has a friend named Kain. I literally only started it today and got 5 minutes into it before something came up and I had to turn it off. I also know I haven't played this one before. I think the next one I'm going to play through is (i think ) FF5. The one where you get different suits for different abilities and shit. I played it when I was like 12 so I don't really remember much about it.

Have you played XII yet? I'm debating whether or not to get it myself.

I've installed Final Fantasy 7 and are currently playing through it slowly.. I've never played it actually, and it was during my time, but I just never played it, so I am going too !!
Other than that, I am at the Final Boss on Breath of Fire 4( he is extremely hard!!!!!!!), and am currently playing through Xenogears, which is an amazing game with a deep psychological and religious story. I hope to finish both then go through Final Fantasy 7, and then on to some more..

If you like Xenogears get Xenosaga after.

FF12 owns, it's just a liiiiittle bit too automatic. I suppose you could turn gambits off completely and then it'd be insanely hard. I might do that.

Actually, that's the same game brother. Later on you start getting different job classes that give your characters the different appearences. That one is badass, but i fucked up and by the time i got to the end boss, i was in a shit place and couldn't finish. Well, maybe if i was patient i could have, but i wasn't.

okay, so I went to our all knowing source of wisdom (aka Wikipedia) to get my bearings straight.

The one I am playing now (with cecil and kain, etc.) is FFII in the US, but was originally IV in japan. It was called IV in the US when it was re-released on Playstation.

The other one I was talking about was in fact FFV, at least in the US.

We need some sort of Treaty between the US and Japan to agree on a naming system for the FF series.

Took me a while to get on the pc to read up on the forums. My favorite FF would have to be VI hands down. My first tattoo was of Mog from VI. I also have Sephiroth (VII), Kain (IV), and Megaman (8-bit) tattoos. I'll post pictures later on if yall wanna see. lol

...and the last boss in 8 is named Ultimecia.

Not a big fan of 12...11 was a fun MMO for a short time...and Chrono Trigger, as you said you were playing, is by far my favorite non-FF game hands down.

you guys should make a games thread or something :P personally I prefer PC classics like Fallout and Baldur's Gate over the FF games, but I really liked 7 and 9.
