I have given DMB a LOT of crap over the years. I find this disc being mentioned by you very intriguing. While it seems we vary on some items, I find myself agreeing with your posts more often than not. I think I might have to check this disc out.... Thanks.

I noticed we have similar tastes as well.. You might like this, give it a shot! it's not your typical happy DMB album.. This disc is pretty heavy (even without electric guitars), really dense and "progressive".... the song Halloween is borderline metal.. LOL let me know what you think when you hear it!

Well I got a hold of that disc......

I remember why I hate DMB so much . Musically... the disc was pretty damn good. I think my favorite cut is Crush. Dave does this whiny inhale/sing thing... and I absolutely cannot stand it. He does not do this vocal 'tick' on Crush, which makes it very listenable.

In short: Dave Matthews ruins the Dave Matthews Band :p

LOL Yeah, I've heard that a few times.. People either think his voice is horrible or that he is the least talented musician on his own band :p
But it's cool that you checked it out! How about his Death Metal growls on Halloween? :p

Ian Anderson - Divinities :worship:

Savananny, no offense, but Savatage will never take a back seat to the likes of POS! :ill::zombie:

~Brian~

No offense taken Brian, but

That's why God gave us each our own unique brain - if we all thought the same thing, and had the same opinions, there would be no need for both of us to exist.

POS - Entropia was a life changing album for me. It takes top billing, hands down.
Savatage is awesomely metal, and I truly love 99% of their library, but they are not and never will be (by choice) POS. :headbang:

...off the top of my head...

Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Dio - Holy Diver
Within Temptation - The Silent Force
After Forever - s/t
Edguy - Hellfire Club

Above are albums that I can ALWAYS listen to and NEVER get tired of....so, that's my criteria...:kickass:

~Brian~
Have to agree with you on all of these particularly, Brian. (Not that any of the other choices you had on your list were bad ones.)

Using the same criteria (albums that I can ALWAYS listen to and NEVER get tired of) here's my additions:
Angtoria - God Has A Plan For Us All
Beautiful Sin - The Unexpected
Benedictum - Uncreation
Benedictum - Seasons of Tragedy
Savatage - Edge of Thorns, Streets
Jorn - The Duke
Warlock - Triumph and Agony

Some others have already been stated that I agree with:
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory
Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica, Silence
Threshold - Dead Reckoning
Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet

RUSH - 2112
Queensryche- Operation Mindcrime
WASP - Crimson Idol
Sonata Arctica- Reckoning Night
Savatage- Edge of Thorns, Wake of Magellan, Streets
Nightwish - Century Child
Deep Purple - Machinehead
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Dark Moor - Dark Moor
...that's all I can think of right now.

An album that hit me as 12 for 12 was Scar Symmetry's new one, Holographic Universe. I've NEVER heard an album with 12 songs on it all be equally amazing. Usually, the problem with more song oriented albums with 12 different songs is you wind up just going back to the 3-4 favorites you have.

With this album, I can listen to ANY of the 12 songs and be love'n it!

The Michael

Albums that are all killer, no filler. Albums that don't have even ONE song on it you don't love. Albums that don't have a single flaw for you to criticize.

Hmmm... this is pretty hard for me. There are easily hundreds of albums on which I love every song... I couldn't even list them all here. But I can't think of even a single album that has nothing at all I could criticize.

And my fire was trampled and extinguished.
:(
Allright.
PERFECT..... um....
Uh....
PERFECT TRANSFORMERS EPISODES!!! YEAH!!! WHO'S DONE THAT THREAD?! NOBODY!!!
Damnit. Now I gotta go back to actually working.

Now we're talking! How about the one where Starscream gets exiled, and creates his own mini-army!? Or the one where the Autobots' human friend gets transferred into a robot frankenstein body and goes crazy!? Or the one where Cobra Commander shows up!? Or how about, the one where everyone is glowing red and going insane, so they resurrect Optimus Prime and he saves the world with the power of cheesy music!?!?!?
