Personal Shit Thread version 2.0

I can try, but one of my courses involve me sitting right behind her. And no, I don't play guitar, but I'm considering investing in an electronic drum kit.

So you can PLAY DRUMS ON HER HEAD!!!

I've never really been through this but what Dave says about don't over analyize to much is sound advice.
Gazing into the infinities is bad for anyone.

Dave is actually a person nobody on this planet should ever put their faith in unless he likes your music

That's completely untrue :(

But seriously, I was in the exact same position at 16. My problem was that I didn't have the foresight to see what it'd lead to, which fucked me up. Best thing to do is to just stay clam and not let anything get out of hand - go to a school counciller or something, that's what I did and it certainly helped. Everything'll work out Onedude, just keep your cool aye?

...16 as well.

Then I propose as 16 year olds, we all meet up with fake ID's, go to a bar/pub and start drinking! And I don't care if we're distances apart!

Yeah, I'm trying to calm down and relax nowadays. I'm relying on being with the family to cool me off for a while. Thanks for the advice Dave. :)

From her facebook:
"When you let someone in and help them ease up a situation and then you find out that the person you tried to be there for was only using you! How would that make you feel? But of course it would never happen to you because that´s what you where using me to avoide all this time! Thank´s I´ll miss you, wish you felt the same " - Blööm

I SEE WHAT SHE FUCKING DID THERE

Thanks for all the brohugs and kind words in the Love/Hate thread guys. I know I've never actually met any of you, but it means a lot to me - seriously.

Anyway, I thought I'd resurrect this old thread instead of turning our Love/Hate thread into the 'Podgie's emo shit' thread. :loco:

So Podg, how did it go at the lawyer today? Surely there is some loophole allowing you to remain here. Or can you go back home and then get another visa to come back (although that would be a hassle). I dunno how these things work, never even been overseas myself!

I'm try and briefly sum it up for you. I explained everything and he said the only route to go down would be to apply for a relationship/spouse via (with my ladyfriend). He said it wouldn't be a straightforward case though due to the fact that we've been together less than 12 months (around 5), that she doesn't work (she's a student, so she couldn't qualify as my required 'sponsor' (a person who can support me financially if I were to lose my job/fall ill/whatever). And also things like we're both young (20 and 25) and unmarried etc.

Though saying all that he did say it wasn't a lost cause, and that he would take a strategical approach in the sense that, if the initial application was to be refused (which it would) we could appeal and then it would go to a tribunal, which could be 1-2 years down the track, at which point we'd have a much stronger case. He said then it should be easy. In the time being I would be on a bridging visa, carrying on working and living my normal life here in Australia.

My problem is time. Also there are significant financial implications involved in going any further with this, along with a huge commitment from me and my ladyfriend. Obviously.

All very stressful and overwhelming considering a decision needs to be made within a week (the lawyer advised me under no circumstances would he recommend me overstaying my visa - which expires on Nov 13th).

Well I didn't know this thread existed!

I guess that is the best option for you (what the lawyer suggested). If things did not work out between your female and yourself *touch wood* , could you just cancel the appeal and everything with it? Although you would probably have to be sent back home then I'm guessing.

(Sorry for negativity, Ill stop now!)

Should you take your lawyers advice, does your lady finish studying within the next 1-2 years? If so, she could then qualify as a 'sponsor' too.

Don't know how you get through it man, sounds way to stressful for me! Keep it goin' and do what you think is best!

Don't apologise for the negativity! It's a good question, besides, it's not even really negative!

I guess if things didn't work out between us I could just stop proceedings, yeah. I would have to leave the country, and of course I would have lost out on a load of money in legal fees.

She's got a few years left of studies I think, so I don't think that could work. Unless she got a par-time job... but I imagine I'd have to name one before reaching the appeal stage anyway. I really don't understand the sponsor thing to be honest. I mean, who, apart their partner, would commit to supporting another adult? It's not like you can expect, say, your partner's mother to be like, oh yeah sure, I can afford to support you if you lost your job. My own parents probably wouldn't be keen on making that kind of commitment, let along anyone else!

Podg, being deported out of a country is not emo shit. Don't ever call it that.

This is mainly for families. Like for instance, my cousins are already out on their student visa's and they're almost done school (well, one of them is, another is finishing up), so in order for them to continue being residents here, we might have to start sponsoring them until they can prove to the government that their area of work will be beneficial to the government (which would be nice if they sent back a reply to the work permits my cousin sent two fucking years ago. Then once they prove that and start actually contributing significantly to it, they wind up getting their citizenship (if I remember right).

Anyway, I really hope you get this worked out man. It's shit not being able to stay in a country even though you found something promising worth staying in.

+1!

That does all sound very confusing and frustrating. My next question was going to be citizenship but judging by what TOD said (^^), it is probably just as fucked!

Whole thing sounds like a big pile of shit; hope you get a good result from it

There's one more thing I forgot to consider, although it seems a bit miniscule. You should also take a look at how many immigrants from other countries are entering Aussie. If their is a low enough amount, I think they can handle accepting a few more. IF it's high, they'll only take the most helpful ones (engineers, doctors, etc.) Think of it like a floodgate, controlling the amount of water entering a village or something.

Keep this in mind, this is what I know from the Canadian government. I assume that the same also applies to Aussie. If not, I apologize for incorrect info.

The whole system seems very strange to me. I can see its importance but it seems very pedantic (only in the sense that they are so rigorous in checking each person).

Just become a death metal farmer. They always need those.

If you were a leader of a country getting immigrants by the year, and you had a government at your disposal, you'd want to be pedantic too maaan. Something so delicate can't have any loose ends lying around...

On a lighter note...

Just become a death metal farmer. They always need those.

Blast beat the livestock! :heh:

Just scream, in a death metal voice, GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW! and you shall have a hundred acres of food.
