Personality Types (MBTI/Jung)

I saw you post and I figured you would be this. We should hang out. Who knows what two INTJ, finance geeks could get into?

Yep

Agreed. There have been times when I'm out with friends and all I want to do is go home and be alone.

Even while I'm drunk I find myself thinking about other shit than social interaction. Food, music, games, sleep, books, etc. I keep finding myself hung up on how annoying people are, or things I disagree with they say. I honestly only truly get along with my brother, my "gaming" buddy, my "metal" buddy and now I'm just searching for a lady friend and I'm fucking set. Don't need to socialize with anyone else on a regular basis. 4 people is enough.

@KR: An ENTJ?? How do you handle all the voices??

There are so many situations in which you're forced to adopt extrovert traits just to get by, and it seems kind of lopsided to me. Maybe I just have a victim complex.

Yeah, the guys at the INTJforum refer to this as "putting on a mask", you aren't alone. I was posting over there for a while but suprisingly there are only a few Libertarians that post there, so the political threads turn into a socialist circle jerk.

Yep, no surprises here, haven't changed since I took it years ago. There's a reason everybody feels comfortable telling me their problems

I don't much trust the science behind the MBTI but the personality types themselves are interesting taken on their own. I'm likely an INTP myself and have met a few cool people through an online community of INTPs.

The rest of you INTPs may find this profile of interest: http://intp.org/intprofile.html
It is the most accurate and thorough profile for any personality type I have read and I don't anything like it exists for any other personality type.

INTP here. I kinda rushed through the test and noticed that I didn't have any severely dominant traits. I may need to retake. Or maybe I'm just an indecisive pussy.

I have no idea what deity I annoyed causing me to end up working in human resources. I am an extreme introvert that is comfortable dealing with people only in extremely few specific situations, usually related to subcultures I am involved with. Or metal shows. I usually don't have an issue with the "nice shirt" small talk, but stick me in an elevator at work with someone and have fun watching me make a moron out of myself.

Like with Cythraul, I don't associate even with close friends that often, but I'm pretty good about keeping in touch with FaceBook/texting. I'm working at it, though.

I hate to be a buzzkill but there is pretty much no science behind the MBTI and it's not really used much. If you're interested in this stuff try the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory.

I've taken this test several times over a decade and got INTJ every time until the last time, where it switched to INTP, with perceiving only slightly over judging.

EDIT: Back to INTJ...

Introverted (I) 89.66% Extroverted (E) 10.34%
Intuitive (N) 51.35% Sensing (S) 48.65%
Thinking (T) 72.41% Feeling (F) 27.59%
Judging (J) 65.52% Perceiving (P) 34.48%

Sweet, Cythraul and I are equally introverted.

The write-ups I'm reading regarding the MMPI state it is specifically for psychotherapists to find psychological problems, not a personality type. It would make sense that it is the most used in that regard, as very few people are going to a psychotherapist unless they either have a "real" problem, or imagine that they do, which is also a problem in it's own way.

I did this test awhile ago, found I was an INTJ. Took it again, and seems to be accurate enough.

Introverted (I) 61.76% Extroverted (E) 38.24%
Intuitive (N) 51.28% Sensing (S) 48.72%
Thinking (T) 67.5% Feeling (F) 32.5%
Judging (J) 57.89% Perceiving (P) 42.11%

INTJ - "Mastermind". Introverted intellectual with a preference for finding certainty. A builder of systems and the applier of theoretical models. 2.1% of total population.

I feel the same way Cyth does: "There are so many situations in which you're forced to adopt extrovert traits just to get by, and it seems kind of lopsided to me."

I can force myself to extroverted and do cold approaches to strangers if I have to. I don't particularly want to but I learnt how to do it when I worked as a bartender.

Apparently, INTJs are most attracted to ENFPs. Krampus, wanna marry me? :loco:
