POD FARM 2

Then this should be a big improvement :D I haven't tried any of the line 6 software out myself, I've stuck with TSE X30 and all the Lepou and ABG software :D Pod Farm costs so much :erk::cry:

Too lazy to click the link, but yea, like Marcus said, if they haven't updated the software itself, what the fuck do they think they're doing? Are they just trying to ride their name while lesser known developers make superior products and give them away for free? C'mon, Line6! Use some of that money and repurtation to blow us away!

I have POD Farm 1 and I never use it . They have the fakest sounds of all the amp sims I have used. They would have to really up their game to even get my $35 upgrade

Forgive me if I missed it, but are there actually any new/updated amp models in here? If not, how can anyone possibly be even the slightest bit excited about this? o_O

The only thing I see is the ability to stack anything. So for instance, you could now run 3 delays, 2 reverbs etc... in the same signal chain.

Other than that, YAWN.

pod farm 1 is nice....actually i can get better guitar tones with it than with most of the freeware stuff - but then again, i'm mainly using the various rectifiers or the 5150 in there, and there are no free amps modeled after these, so go figure...

anyways, that update is a joke.....plus i've had enough shit to dig through while trying to get my original pod farm to work, you won't see me with another line 6 purchase anytime soon.

I'm interested in the upgrade because the interface is better than before and you get PODFarm Elements, individual distortion, delay, amp, etc plugs for mixing.
Other than that I don't know if there's any new modules in it.

Last I heard all the dudes who used to code the emulations for Line 6 left and made Revalver. That's why Line 6 hasn't introduced any new sounds in years, just riding what they've had forever right into the ground.

I don't think that's true. Revalver was originally created by a company called Alien Connections. I don't think they were ever linked with Line 6.

Yep, should be better in fact as you dont have to go through the XT's AD&DA conversion.

As has already been said this is really a pointless update, there's nothing really new here. Line 6 need to up their game or they'll be left in the dust.

I've gotta say than in my experience (I track DI's with my POD XT so it's still going thru the POD's converters), even on the same settings, POD Farm 1 sounds MUCH better than my POD XT. Haven't tried POD Farm 2.

More 'depth' to the sound, less fizzy, a tiny bit less (I don't think this is the correct term, especially on an audio engineering forum, but for a lack of a better word) 'compressed' sounding. Overall, less POD-y sounding. That, and it has lots of cool features that the XT doesn't have, like two amps at once and whatnot.

Still sounds like Line 6, but a better, more up-to-date Line 6, I'm guessing.

I don't really know how it compares to a POD X3, but POD Farm, IMO, most definitely has the XT beat.
