ProgPower Scandinavia 2008

Claus / Intromental

20 years of uniting the powers of metal
We're extremely happy to announce the first two bands for ProgPower Scandinavia 2008.

Anubis Gate from Denmark is a band that should appeal to both the power metal and the progressive metal audience with their mixture of old school heavy metal riffs, big melodies and sci-fi conceptual lyrics. ProgPower Scandinavia 2008 is the first confirmed show for this band in their current line-up, featuring new vocalist Jacob Hansen (ex-Invocator, Beyond Twilight), also known as one of the most respected producers on the worldwide metal scene. Anubis Gate will be playing as second band of the night on Friday October 31st.

Cloudscape from Sweden will be opening the show on the second day, Saturday November 1st. Their music is that of a highly melodic metal band with a dark feeling to it (that is very typical of Swedish bands) and some progressive touches here and there. Their 3rd album "Global Drama" will be released in 2008. Having performed earlier on to great response at both ProgPower UK and ProgPower Europe, it was clear to us that we needed this band to be present at ProgPower Scandinavia as well.

At the same time we're also very proud to be able to welcome two futher sponsors to our list of great companies we're working with on making ProgPower Scandinavia the best metal festival in Denmark:

Carlsberg Beer
Coca-Cola

Very cool news Claus, two very steady and talented bands as the first announcements. Can't wait to hear what else you have planned for it (I know you have most already confirmed, tell us dammit! hehe) - Hopefully this year I have better luck and will be able to come, really sucked to miss it last year especially with the great lineup you had. Those are some impressive signings as sponsors btw, good job :)

Okay now you are tempting me, I will defiently have to make plans to attend this year.

Hey, that sounds like a great line-up of bands. And it's only the first two announced!

Anubis Gate -- as the thread on this Forum can attest -- is a favorite around here. We have our fingers crossed they'll make an appearance at PPUSA one of these years.

Cloudscape is a very cool band as well.

If more bands of this caliber are chosen, ProgPower Scandanavia ought to be one killer fest!

Bill

Excellent first two choices! I've been dying to see these two for some time now. Still kicking myself for missing Cloudscape two years ago at Sweden Rock. This fest is already shaping up to be killer. Congrats.

I just called the passport agency - they won't be issuing you a passport. Sorry champ, better luck next time!!! :p

oh har har. :Smug:

I guess if you're gonna be at ProgPower Scandinavia I should probably just sit it out.

j/k with ya.

after all, I would not want to pass up the opportunity to have Lars, Claus, Tess, and everyone else taking a picture/video of you doing the face hugger for a solid 5 minutes.
