ProgPower Scandinavia 2008

You tease, you are bound and determined to cause me some heart problems, but this announcement just makes it that much easier to spend the money to come over and enjoy two days of great music, and wonderful friends. My better half will be excited, she likes Wuthering Heights, hmmmmmmmm i wonder if it because she likes classic English Literature.

And here we are yet again with the announcement of the next two bands to perform at PP Scan '08.

"Gather Ye Wild" is one of the song titles of this amazing Danish/Swedish band, Wuthering Heights. A blend of top-notch musicians from as diverse bands as Astral Doors, Lions Share, Loch Vostok, Pyramaze and Manticora, that will now be gathered for one of their rare performances (and first in Denmark since 1999). Wuthering Heights is the band that mixes so many beautiful music styles into one perfect diamond of sounds, and with the ever-relevant lyrics of musical mastermind Erik Ravn, this band is an audience favourite no matter where they perform. We expect them to be so too at ProgPower Scandinavia 2008.

To light up a dark Copenhagen in November, we have summoned the sun all the way from California in the form of one of this Worlds most equilibristic and technical bands - Zero Hour. A band that has played on both the American and the Dutch versions of ProgPower. Why should the Scandinavians be robbed of the chance of watching this amazing band? With the twin brothers Jasun and Troy Tipton on bass and guitar, the extreme shredding is secured. With Mike Guy to keep the rhythms alive and the great voice of Chris Salines (ex-Power Of Omens) to top the cake, the energy and musicianship of Zero Hour will secure a show that will not be forgotten at The Rock and in the minds of the audience.

Getting more awesome with each announcement Claus! Nice to the the Tipton Bro's on the lineup too! :headbang:

I hear ya. I only spent half a day in Denmark last time I was there. Here's the best excuse to go back. So far flights I found are in the $500-$600 range. Not too bad.

We found a great deal, El Paso to Copenhagen, thru DFW and London Heathrow on AA and BA for $543(all taxes and security fees included). It's weird cause it cost $621 from El Paso to Atlanta on Delta.

VolBeat would be totally out of the question ... the venue we're having PPScan at holds 700-800 people. VolBeat can sell out a 3.000 ppl venue here in Copenhagen for 2 nights in a row. Those guys are the biggest thing in ROCK in Denmark at the moment.

Nope, it's not weird at all. Delta can be amazingly greedy when there isn't someone else (AirTran, AA, Continental) to keep 'em honest. :puke:

Those ticket prices to Denmark sound really good. This lineup is really tempting me and will doubtless only get better, but I'm fairly sure I can't afford it.

Hey, can we get a group discount?

Damn, oh well can't fault me for wishing, but I can see the point, there would be no tickets for us coming from the USA. Plus I am sure that VOLBEAT is going to gather up a hell of a lot of new fans when they play PPUSA.

Friday February 22nd 2008:

It's about time to start announcing the headliners and co-headliner for PP Scan '08:

Pain Of Salvation from Sweden doesn't really need any presentation. The Eskilstuna band is undoubtedly the premiere band for a ProgPower festival, having played at both PP Holland and PP USA, not to mention several gigs here in Copenhagen over the years. With vocalist Daniel Gildenlöw in front, a man not only being a "hard rock vocalist", but also an entertainer, storyteller and a man with something at heart, Pain Of Salvation is the perfect headliner for our festival and has therefore been chosen as that to make sure the crowd will leave the party with a big smile on their lips when the show is over Saturday November 1st 2008.

Pagan's Mind, Norway's leading progressive metal band is hereby booked for ProgPower Scandinavia 2008. Eventhough Norway has brought us many great prog acts in the last decade, Pagan's Mind have made that difference which has brought them worldwide recognition within only 4 albums under their belt. The last disc, "God's Equation" has received praise from the media everywhere, and with a bunch of tours and festival shows in the backpack, Pagan's Mind will undoubtedly make The Rock and PP Scan '08 steaming, as they enter the stage as fourth band of the evening, Friday October 31st.
