ProgPowerUSA 2012 Guesses

What would make Rhapsody more expensive than last year's headliners? Don't Hammerfall and Kamelot both outsell and outdraw Rhapsody?

Well, with Kamelot initially it would've been cheaper due to them already touring the states. Beyond that though, from what I hear with Rhapsody it has to do with the production of their stage (not to mention that I believe Glenn has said they're pricey to get). Don't just think in terms of sales numbers. I still think it's possible at some point, but I think that's why it hasn't happened. I think having Therion this year is more encouraging though.

Well, I'm going to hold off making "official" guesses for the "official" thread, but the top three on my wishlist right now are Amorphis, Symphony X and Jolly.

I have no guesses because I'm out of bands I even know of that haven't played and are realistically capable of making the cut. Since I was unfamiliar with 95% of this year's lineup, (and pleasantly surprised by several bands so far), I'm not even going to bother thinking about next year.

Is this going to be a realistic-guess thread, or a wishlist thread? :P Either way, I can totally see Rhapsody of Fire (since they're one of the last "big" power metal bands in general that I think haven't played the fest yet) and Amaranthe (high energy live, two members have already been to the fest, etc). I would also love to see Eternal Tears of Sorrow play the fest someday.

like most, I am going to wait until the official thread is open. I did so poorly last year i was embarrassed about it but saw the winner did not do much better so I did not feel so bad. LOL!!

People actually enjoy Van Canto?

Assuming all's good in the hood, wouldn't be surprised to see Lost in Thought make an appearance.
I'd need a few changes of underpants if another "Lost" band showed up...

Now that John Macaluso & Tore Ostby are writing together again for another Ark album (according to Facebook), if they can get a new recording out in time they'd probably rock at the next PPUSA.

Another awesome choice would be Timo Tolkki's Dreamspace lineup. That'd be killer. Not really sure what its called. Anyone know anything about that?

Devil Doll, Green Carnation(re-united and will play LoDDoD), Psychotic Waltz, Spiral Architect, Lost Horizon(re-united with Heiman)

That about covers it.

I don't know what goes into booking the fest or how bands are selected but i would love to see one of these bands this coming year

Edguy
Rhapsody
Pagan's Mind
Angra (I still want to see kiko and glenn in a ring, haha)
Dark Moor
Stormwarrior - not opening
Powerwolf
Rage
Divinefire
Steel Panther - MEKKA LOLZ IF THIS HAPPENS
Freedom Call - suck it milton, haha
Heavenly

I guess all these would be either first timers or repeats from a few years ago (aside from SW and Pagan's mind)

Either way, Im sure its going to kick ass since Glenn probably already has the show booked and is just laughing at all of our stupid predictions :) LOL
