Okay, for the Opeth sound, which stock pups would be better for the tone, etc of the Opeth sound? Dragon II's or HFS Treble and Vintage? I'm thinking HFS.

i wouls say the hfs aswell, opeth don't have any custom 22s. and im pretty sure at least one or 2 of their guitars or peters old guitars still had the hfs/vintage bass pickups in them.
otherwise you could get a cu24 and put seymor duncans in it.
im saving for a cu24 at the momment, after playing a cu22 and a cu24 the 24 sounded so much better, the dragon2 pups are really weak and thin in comparison, not good for metal at all i thought

Seymoure duncans are ok pickups but i would talk to prs or go to a good store and ask the stock ones or which ones to request.
when you get the guitar live with it for a few months then if you dont like the pickups i would talk to a pickup speacialist to get thier ideas, in the Uk you have wizzard pickups and bare knuckle amongst others.
bareknuckle were really helpful and supplied two sets for me and yes i did get what i asked for as i let the guys ther know what strings model guitar it was what i believed the woods were and also what i dint like about the current sound and what i was hoping to achieve only thing is i like 1 set much better so perhapse one day i will buy another set of the ones i like best.
in america i have read about 2 or 3 really good custom pickup guys.

That was the thread about his signature model right?
Doesn't really say anything about his PUPS..

Only that he wants Piezo in his Signature..

wow nice!!!
I did'nt see Mikes post.... I posted about the idea of there being an Opeth signature model a month or two ago..omg didnt think it would actually happen..but it kinda makes sense due to Opeth's success and status..I mean if Cradle Of filth can get the Paul Allender SE lol
