Purchases you were really fucking disappointed with?

I felt like Karma was disconnected and didn't flow very well. In my mind the album was divided into three distinct parts. Part one- the first like 3 or 4 songs, Part 2- songs like Temples of Gold and Highlands, and of course Part 3- The trilogy of Elizabeth songs. Being a concept album, I see Epica as one entire, flowing work and believe that it blows Karma out of the water. But, to each his own, Yngster.

I think I need to take back what I said about Rhapsody...they're actually starting to grow on me. Granted the lyrics are god awful as is that narrator, but the music is really pretty cool.

Savantage - Wake of Magellan.

I read heaps of reviews and it all got 10/10 so I saw it in a shop and said what the hell, I'll buy it.
I don't see what all the fuss is about - its boring normal heavy metal with a storyline BIG WHOOP!


Human Fortress - Lord of Earth and Heaven's Heir.

I got this when I was in my early power metal/rhapsody phase. I downloaded a song which was pretty good for me back then but that was the only half decent song in the whole cd. Boring shitty Euro-power-metal Stratovarius wannabees. They have two guitarists and there is like only one solo in the whole cd. Really pick-scratchy high riffs and the a relly bad singer. This cd kinda got me off power-metal.

Nightwish - Over The Hills ... the gary moore cover was cool ... the 2 originals is nightwish at their worst

Masterplan - I liked it someone on first listen... but it gets worse with each listen... I can't believe Jorn left ARK for this generic crap! The music is so boring!

hey totally agree with that... That new Masterplan is really boring.. ARK was 1000% better than this I don't know what happened to Jorn

I had Entropia first, didn't like it much for about 2 weeks, then loved it. My next purchase was TPE1, I listened to it twice and thought it was boring as hell. About 2-3 months later I came back to it, and it blew me away...I think I just didn't 'get' it at first.

TPE1 hit me the first time I listened to it like nothing I had ever experienced before... it was one of the greatest hours of my life... I was utterly amazed at this new world of music I was discovering.

That was how it was for me the first time hearing Scenes From A Memory. It was my first taste of prog .

Wow.. interesting.

Althought I felt that Remedy Lane was rather weak compared to the others I still liked it..

One Hour by the Concrete Lake and The Perfect Element were both IMO fantastic!!! TPE took me a few listens to fully appreciate, but once I "heard" it (as opposed to simply "listening" to it) it became one of my favorites.. It's always in my vehicle ready to be popped in at any time.

i am sorry, i just cant get into it. Karma was so much better and i was totally disappointed when i heard this and i still have yet to finish the album. I like center of the universe, but that's really about it.

ok, this was my fault. i had unrealistic expectations for this one, but i have given it many spins and i love it now, but at first it was a bit disappointing.

DON"T KILL ME!!! i was simply expecting another dwot, but after i came to terms with the fact that there will never be another V or divine wings, i really started to get into it. still not my favorite symX cd, but much much better than any of the other stuff in my collection!!!!
sentenced-anything other than the cold white light
i have heard some random sentenced songs before i bought the cold white light (first sentenced album) and that album is magic. the rest don't have that feel to it. might just be me... oh well

now the album i bought and absolutely hate:
savatage-dead winter dead.
I heard so much good about this that i just bought it without listening to anything. big mistake. 20 bucks gone (yes, i got it at one of those corporate stores that sells everything for a minimum of one million dollars). No redeming qualities whatsoever. I hate it so much. sorry to fans of the album, but i just can't stand that dude's voice or the music... ugh. the theme is pretty stupid too. this is all IMO so don't get mad at me...i just give my oppinion!
