Purchases you were really fucking disappointed with?

Well, to be fair, slipknot sucks as it is...

As for elements part 1, i don't see why everyone hates it so much... I think the song eagleheart is crap, but some of the other songs are killer... especially soul of a vagabond.

I wasn't REALLY disappointed with this but...

Adagio - Sanctus Ignis

I heard so many great things about this band, and I thought I'd be completely blown away, but I wasn't. Not that I don't like it or anything, I was just a bit disappointed. To me, it didn't live up to the hype.. but then again, it's a good, solid album.

On the other hand, I've heard Underworld, and I think it's way better. I might be getting more into Adagio with future releases.

Oh, i forgot a BIG one

Explorer's Club- Raising The Mammoth

I was so excited for this cd. The 2 featured singers were Steve Walsh and Labrie. I thought i couldnt go wrong. However i reccomend no one waste the money. very dissappointing

Its hard to like everything, lots of people dislike Barlows voice, I happen to like it. QUOTE]

I thought alot of people disliked Gene Adams' voice from the self titled Iced Earth album, but I guess I could be wrong. If you didn't like Matt's voice on the original tracks, then I recommend listening to the original singers and then tell me which vocalist you would prefer. I personally think Matt has a great voice, but as mentioned before, it's strickly opinion and not a personal attack. Any way, my choice for shittiest cd would have to be True Carnage and Graveyard Classics by Six Feet Under.

Whats wrong with you people?? We are living in 21th century: Before you buy CD you can dowload some samples of the disc you are going to get, if dont like the samples dont buy it, as simple as that. Dont waste your money.

Some of you may know that a lot of bands that begin their carrers with an amazing disc,(Rhapsody, DreamTheater, Stratovarius, Metallica etc) they tend to go in reverse and follow an irregular evolution.

Samples don't always work. I downloaded two songs from the Circle II Circle cd, which sounded good. I got the cd, and other than those two songs the rest were super cheesy ballads. You have know idea how pissed I was when I first listened to that.

My latest disappointment is the new Anathema album, "A Natural Disaster". Words can't describe how disappointed I am in this release. It's 50+ minutes of NOTHING! It's like they're in a contest with Antimatter to see who can create songs that go nowhere the quickest! I was very excited after hearing the beautiful "Are You There?"... unfortunately, it's the ONLY good song on the album. It's like they wrote and recorded this album in their sleep. 2003 has been a cruel year for me...

I can't understand, why Kotipelto has to sing like that, it sounds horrible, especially on Find Your Own Voice :yuk:

Find Your Own Voice is the song kotipelto sings best on imo.
I don't understand why there are so many people are bashing kotipelto,
he's a far better live vocalist than many other out there...
The two times I have seen Strato live Kotipelto kicked ass.

PMF: Odd that you would say that, because some of the material on the new album does remind me of Antimatter...and I mean that in a good way. Sure, the drmatic intensity of Judgement and Alternative 4 is largely missing and it takes a while to sink in, especially given the vocal division of labor, but this album has atmosphere.

Opinion is a strange thing, we've all got one and everyone's opinion is right ;)

I haven't bashed Kotipelto, I meant that he sings way too high on FYOV. It would be nice to be able to understand, what he's singing, instead of trying to hear those high notes, which only dogs can hear

I like Timo's voice, the only thing which bothers me, is that after many years of singing, he still can't pronounce english properly. Hell, even I can do it better and I've only studied english for 4 years in my life!

Ugh I had to patch up the windows in this room after listening to that "song". Kotipelto's performance is simply unacceptable there, I wouldn't wish even my mortal enemy to endure even 20 seconds of Find Your Own Voice... Song name is kind of ironic too. UGH UGH UGH!!!

I was really dissapointed with that one too. I didn't realize that Petrucci wasn't on it nor was James Murphy. THe CD is pretty mediocre to say the least wit hsome really out there lyrics.

Forgive me for jumping out of the Metal Genre for a sec, but i was dissapointed by Kiss's Alive IV, no Ace and all the songs were already available, like the aucoustic ones, and the symphony didn't work on disc 2, tho it was kinda nice on disk 1

Symphony X - The Odyssey. There I've said it. Although there are GREAT moments on the cd, as a whole, the album doesn't grab me as much as V, DWOT, TIO and Damnation Game. With the exception of Awakenings, Wicked, Accolade II and some moments on the title track, I feel it lacks something that always drew me to Sym X, and that is...emotion.

Flame on!

lol... to be honest i just picked the name because it was relevant to symx... sad i kinow. It's a good song/album, but mabey i should have gone with a different name??
