Puzzling me.

Any song with Simen on it is a highlight, regardless if the song itself is below par. I'm so glad he's fronting a new band now (besides Lamented Souls, which doesn't seem to be doing anything). I hope Code gets cracking on a new record soon, and bring back Simen's signature growl.

Arcturus split up about a month ago. The British/Norwegian black metal band Code anounced a few months ago that Simen would be their new vocalist.

Check out Lamented Souls if you like doom/stoner rock. Some great stuff.

well, liek i said earlier, German isnt a very Melodic language. therefore many german bands just sign in English. I dont know Norwegian, but I think it might be the same in Norwegian. Make sense to anyone? that might be why burzum etc.. choose to sign in English...?

And not "marketing" exactly was what I was referring to, but rather dissemination of information and knowledge. More people know English than Norwegian, and I think that plays a role in his decision to write in English on his website, for example. I'm not saying that's the only reason, but I doubt that it has nothing to do with it.

Well, there is also the fact that the English language has three times as many words as the Norwegian, which makes conveying certain specific emotions and thoughts easier, presuming that you master the language.

I'm pretty sure Norwegian is capable of conveying something like "Ahhhh Ea! Lord of the ... Depths!". Plus it's not like Varg makes full use of the entire English vocabulary.

I wasn't really talking about Burzum, specifically, though. Although, that particular sentence would sound pretty corny in Norwegian...

Except that a lot of bands, especially death metal, do not have that melodic of vocals in general. I must say that the Austrian (I think) songs of belphegor sound awesome, even though it is only noticeable in one song.
