Hey guys.

I just stumbled across a problem, my band is beggining to record our album in 3rd january (no, this is not about us having only 8 songs made yet and need inspiration ) and 'til then I'm gonna make a setup on the guitar.

Our producer (Vasco Ramos from More Than A Thousand, btw, be shure to check them http://www.myspace.com/morethanathousand ) told me to use .56 strings, and after i experimented, I decided that the perfect gauge for me was 10-13-17-30-42-56, but I can't find any brand that sells this specific pack.

Does anybody know any brand with that specific string gauges in a pack, or do I really have to buy separated strings?

Btw, check my band here: http://www.myspace.com/blesstheoggs

What are you tuning to?

The closest standard pack I can think of are the Light Top, Heavy Bottom (Ernie Ball, but yeah it still doesn't have the .56).

To me there's a very good reason for this. A .42 next to a .56 is gonna feel kinda shitty. There has to be a pretty standard degree of diminishing size for each string so the whole set feels as one.

I'm using drop D, that's the reason why the 42 wouldn't feel shitty for me (i've tried 56-46-36 but i couldn't perform the pinches well in the 46 and the 36 felt very heavy for me).

My guitar is a Schecter HellRaiser C-1 FR (I blocked the floyd, btw) so the neck is 25.5" .

try the eb beefy slinky , 54-42-30-22-15-11, works well down to about c# std, depending on your scale length
