RC Top 10 of 2004 Question for the board

This should be interesting. Which cds have you still not heard from each writer's list that you now want to hear?

For me it would be:

Isis (which I am now listening to and it is worship worthy!):kickass:
Mar De Grises
Drudkh
Morgion (still can't believe I haven't heard more than 2 minutes of this album)
Riverside (saw this at Best Buy with a sticker on it comparing it to Porcupine Tree and Anathema... been curious)

Deathspell Omega
Reclusiam

and though it's 2003, I still want to hear Mithras, from NAD's list.

"still not heard from each writer's list that you now want to hear?"

Have not heard the following but interested:

Neurosis - The Eye of every Storm
Morrigan - Celts
Danzig - Circle of Snakes

Wow, I pretty much heard almost every release in all those lists. :guh:

Neurosis
Iced Earth
Morrigan
Suffocation

I'm already familiar with Neurosis and Suffocation, it's only a matter of time for those.

Which Danzig have you heard now? III, 4p, and 777 right? I'd say Circle of Snakes fits in with a III sound and 777 attitude. I know Carbonized is a big Danzig nut as well, he loved Circle of Snakes.

I've listened to close to every single 2004 release that belongs to my favourite metal genres (death & black) in order to compile my best-of list. It'd be stupid to create a Top 10 of 2004 list if you're heavily into black metal without having heard 1349 - Beyond The Apocalypse and Behexen - By The Blessing Of Satan, for example ;)

1349 is very average, but I'd like to hear Behexen. Where can I find some?

Neurosis
Mar de Grises
Morgion
Void of Silence
Nasheim
Deathspell Omega
Blut Aus Nord

I wouldn't shocked if I liked none of this. However, the chatter on the board about these bands has piqued my curiosity.

If you like Panopticon, you'll might like the last three neurosis albums. They are simply not as immediate as isis.

1349 tops my soon-to-be-finished Top 10 of 2004 list, I think it's incredible and far from average. Behexen samples can be found here (though the sound quality isn't the best).

Yea i totally dig CoS, upon first listening it sounded new and familiar at the same time. A very good release from Glenn that is easily his best work since 4p. Some of you need to give Fall of the Leafe some love too, Finns need love dammit!:p

Drudkh - Autumn Aurora (In fact, I'm yet to hear anything by Drudkh but will definitely get round doing so)

Velvet Cacoon - Genevieve

Void of Silence - Human Antithesis

Good band. I've mentioned them numerous times, and so has BWD, who was responsible for me checking them out.

Unfortunately, people would rather listen to Blut Ass Nord :yuk: :puke: :p

Never heard Bergthron, seen the name mentioned several times though.

What about GAIkTHROUGH? I'm surprised BWD didn't have them in his list. :dopey:
