Reading Stuff Like This Gives Me The Chills

Holy Shit man. Thats A LOT of songs for each album! I simply know that this is gonna be a smashing success for Iced Earth, and Ripper is gonna tear shit up with material like this. :headbang:

I had the priveledge of meeting Tom Schaffer (and Mrs. Schaffer) in 1997 while Iced Earth were guests at Dragon*Con. Jon's parents were some of the kindest people I've ever met, and they were very proud of what Jon had been able to accomplish musically through the years.

Tom will be missed.

...

and granted, I get a bit tired of Jon re-producing practically everything he's ever done *yawn* - But I'm anxious to hear this new Something Wicked storyline. And I'll sit through Tim's vocals on the re-do of SWTWC trilogy just to hear it.

Yep. Neil (The Iced Earth webmaster and frequent Perpetual Motion guru) posted this yesterday in Zod's Next Announcement Thread.

Looks like it will truly be something to behold. As much as most of us loved Barlow and his unique emotion & voice, Owens keeps the talent in the band at a very high level IMO, and is about as good a replacement as I could have hoped for - I'm extremely excited to hear the first IE project that will be written from beginning to end knowing Owens is the man.

Keep in mind too that the re-recording of the SW Trilogy is at the behest of the label, not Schaffer.
