I was telling Shawn, my lid and box for the Queen set finally bit the dust. just took them out and tossed it. the discs look great in my mini jap poly sleeves i bought recently.

Mine has one functional hinge left, but the discs have been in slimline cases since I bought it, so that's not an issue.

Gladly I ripped the discs last night, ran a lint brush across all sides and put it on the shelf. I'm only going to touch it again if my files get deleted...

It isn't the best constructed box, plus when did it come out? 1999 or earlier? Not sure about Justin's but mine survived a fire so it did okay, but was just time for it to go. But since Justin's is falling apart as well i would say it's the construction. plus the hinges while nice for snap down effect when the glue wears out it becomes difficult for the hinges to work properly without ripping themselves off the box. haha.

My Dio 2-disc deluxe reissues showed up...and 'Holy Diver' has a crease in the spine...grr. Otherwise, they're immaculate...

That seems to be a common thing with the Deluxe Editions. A couple of my Thin Lizzy reissues came that way.

I blame digipacks for many of society's ills. Timeless music shouldn't come in disposable packages.

I actually had a guy blast a couple of my Amazon reviews because I mentioned the cheap digis. He seemed to think they were some kind of elevated art form that I was too dumb to understand.

Is that the Rock Candy Aldo Nova? If so, how is the remastering? Good enough to upgrade from the last reissue?

I used to like Digis in my formative years because I thought they looked cool. But now at 22, im starting to see how they dont hold up and their flaws, im so much wiser in my old days now.

Well I'm not the right person to judge production values and such but to my ears this Rock Candy reissue sounds great. I can't compare to the last reissue though. I've only owned the original release and I haven't listened to that one in at least 15 years haha Sorry, but perhaps someone else here can provide a more elaborate view on the quality of the remastering.
