After listening to a lot of NEVERMORE, FEAR FACTORY, EXODUS etc ..........
Although I love crisp clean production, SUFFOCATIONS self titled album does it for me when I have had enough sterilization for my ears. Not everyones cup of tea, but for some odd reason, I love the production, makes it that more brutal IMO.

+1...the guitars are really weird, but the mix as a whole still works for me.
besides, i love the music....bind torture kill is the shit


anyways, favorite album...well, the faceless - akeldama is pretty high up there, so is decapitated - organic hallucinations, but overall fave for me would be death - the sound of perseverance. that album is a masterpiece, and perfect from start to finish. i love everything, the mix, the playing, the songs, the feeling....
one the more mellow side, i love pretty much everything katatonia has ever done, mainly brave murder day (!), teargas, and the great cold distance.

While I did at one point like thier early material, I think I would now preffer to recommend their mid era and recent albums. Much more solid IMO.
