Romeo on Guitar World's "Fastest Players"...

Haha yes this list is pretty stupidly arranged, and playing fast doesn't necessarily mean it's good music but they're right about Shawn Lane. Shawn Lane was the best guitarist who ever lived, too bad he's dead now. :(

I'm faster.

You play with your feelings? And if your feelings are ready to burn some fuel and pumped with adrenaline and you do a 30,000 NPS solo.. that means you aren't playing with feeling?

I think this has already been discussed before.. but playing fast doesn't mean that you are not playing with feeling.

For me, there are many great shred solos with feeling. Yngwie's solo on The Axis of Evil (Derek Sherinian - Black Utopia) is absolutely amazing. It all comes down to how people hear and react the context it's played over. 'Shred' or otherwise.

I have a friend on that list! Neil Zaza! My dad used to be his Rythm guitar player and he gave me a lot of picks. He's a hard guy to reach though, he won't talk to you unless he needs you for something. But the other guys were nice, like this one name Doug Johns. You should check Neil Zaza out. Ive yet to see him play really really fast.

I don't have a specific site, and am not cruel enough to send you to the JP forums. I'll copy and paste the post though...coincidently (tying this all back to the original post) it was WillJay who worked it out after noticing some pretty obvious discrepencies between the video that Tiago overdu...I mean posted on his youtube page and a video taken by a fan present for the event. First off check the unaltered video ( ) and then here's a post where willjay broke it all down :

"Make your own minds up......

Here's exactly 1 second of his fastest speed from the video (320 bpm) : http://www.speedyshare.com/325144868.html

Now here it is at quarter speed : http://www.speedyshare.com/930802317.html

If you listen carefully to the 1 second video at quarter speed, there are 20 notes that ring out... NOW here's the clue...... turn the sound off and just WATCH it again. His picking hand only moves up and down 15 times in that 1 second.

That can mean one of two things. Either the video was dubbed.... or it was real but he simply fingers waaay more notes than his actual picking speed. Personally i think it was both.

Anyway... here's what it really sounded like on the day : [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=lDWfc_JpOrM[/ame]
