Yep. The 1st Round was completely and totally random. However, matchups from here on out are determined by which position, in which bracket, you started in Round 1. Maiden meeting Sabbath in Round 1 was a complete fluke. Obviously, I could have spent some time seeding the brackets, as they do in the real tourny, but didn't think about it. Plus, had I made Graveland a 16 seed, I be receiving all sorts of hate mail from people I don't want to get hate mail from.

Thanks. As it seems that everyone is having fun with this, next year we can drop the bands that got shit-hammered in Round 1, and introduce some bands that missed out. I know JK mentioned Empyrium, you mentioned Aeturnus. The one classic band that totally slipped my mind is Dio. I'm sure others will come up with a few more that I missed.

I think I'm still in shock from Enslaved somehow beating Megadeth. It's beyond words.

I've heard the entire catalog of both Enslaved and BG, and I'd say BG have about 3 albums worthy of being close to 10/10, whereas Enslaved have one. Other than that, Enslaved are fucking average and overrated to say the least. Oh well they won't last long much longer. Even Cameroon beat Argentina once.

Nevertheless, this is all moot because you voted for Drudkh(!!!) over Mercyful Fate. EH? Fenriz is going to slap you.

Here's the thing about Opeth (for me): it keeps going back to Orchid, and especially Morningrise. The latter being one of the greatest metal records of the 90's. Choosing them over Amon Amarth wasn't too difficult. Even Deliverance > Fate of Knobs.

Opeth is certainly the better musicians, but I'd choose to listen to Once Sent, Avenger and Sorrow Throughout WAAAAYYY before I chose anything by Opeth.
