On the MMORPG front Im really looking forward to the game based on Tolkiens works, I dont remember the title right away, but I remember that I soul be released in late 2003 or 2004...
I used to love playing AD&D, was a load of fun. Was well into Baldurs Gate as well, but that keeps coming and going and every so often I'll pick it up again.
I'm still considering Ultima Online to have been one of the best online RPG's out there. It was, and is now, like the medieval SIMS. hehehe. Too bad it's look and playstyle are totally outdated nowdays. Still, it's the only game I've ever played online that gave you total freedom over your playstyle and where people in-game actually >role-played<.
I haven't seen another one yet where roleplayers would group together. Just a bunch of 1337 brats running around trying to play the game as though it were Quake.
I played my share of AD&D in my day, myself. And the FF games were the best console games, ever.
Xenogears
Final Fantasy VI
Magic: The Gathering (basic but fun)
Middle-earth (old card based RPG, rather complex, not around anymore)
and of course D&D, the few times I had a chance to play it.
Originally posted by Voice of God There has been a card based rpg about Middle-Earth? I always thought MERP was the only rpg ever made for Middle-Earth.
Or do you mean the collectible card game? Lords of Middle-Earth or something.... Flaming Eye as logo? This one: http://www.flwyd.dhs.org/metw/
Yup, that's it. I knew there was a specific acronym for it but I forgot. My avatar is from one of the cards, Stormcrow. It was produced by the same company that did the MERP I believe, it was a great game. Hey thanks for the website!
