Russell Allen = Sir ???

Medieval Times Restaurant is a restaurant where your seats are around a small (semi-)circular ampitheater with a stage in the center. You eat and watch duels between entertainers who dress up as knights who usually joust and whatnot. It's supposed to be representive of medieval times, yet they serve soda and stuff. I heard it's really cool watching.

There are a few around the USA, the one I know of in New Jersey. I've been there a few times for school trips and all, its fun. They set up a decent sized area in the middle and have knights joust and swordfight while they serve you food that your supposed to eat with your hands.

The newest MT is in Baltimore (which Russell was pimping at the show here). Haven't been yet, but going sometime this spring. I've been to a very similar type event at the Camelot casino in Las Vegas - dinner, hot longhaired men on horses galloping around with lances and swords and beating the crap out of each other...

I'm gonna be going to Florida right near the one that's
there. I'll be there a while, and I love all the knight stuff.

Might be a nice thing to do with the family because we'll
be down there a long time with not much to do.

Is it worth the 45 bucks to go?

I've been to the one in Florida and the one here in Illinois, and I loved it. The food is kick ass. The last time I went I got to sit in the front row, and the knight whose section we were in came over and gave me his scarf to hold while he fought. *drool* it was awesome.

Is it the same kind of restaurant that appeared in Jim Carrey's "The Cable Guy"-movie? Cool looking place...

yeah i only know about medieval times from the cable guy.. what city is that set in.. p.s. its normal around these parts for metal guys to call emselves 'sir' or 'lord'.. its an ego thing over here, but for russ i dont know.

what a fucking awesome job that must be...is Russ a big LARP nerd as well? Now all I can think about is that Family guy episode where Peter quit his job and went back the the Ren Fair and became a jouster, funny as all hell..

You mean Excalibur right? :)

That's the one I went to anyway. It was good, but would've been better if it was more adult oriented. But there were WAY TOO MANY kids in Vegas over 4th of July weekend.

I personally would never bring a youngling to Vegas.

I think that scene in "Cable Guy" was filmed at the location in California. Matthew Broderick has probably one of the funniest lines in a movie ever. The waitress asks him if he wants more soda, but instead he asks for silverware. When she says, "There was no silverware during medieval times," he's like, "Oh, but they had soda?????" I nearly died laughing. :tickled:

The "sir" bit is just a goof, really. I think Arjen Lucassen was probably the first to refer to him as "Sir Russell Allen" on the Universal Migrator CDs.
