Salvia Divinorum

My point of view is build on the fact, that I see addicts (drug & alcohol) everyday at my work and I've also lost few friends because drugs. With them it started with very basic stuff like weed, some mild pills etc and the end was something like escaping the trolls on the forest and ending down form the bridge to the ground.

I'm done with this, I've made all the points I have to give, and in the end, it boils down to what each person chooses based upon their circumstances.

Having strong convictions is one thing, but the more a person denies logic in there position, the more it breaks down and lacks cohesion. Although I do agree that personal experiences can shape and influence your view of things, sometimes stronger than any other factor. Chromatose is right, perceived reality is the key term here. I know that I cant fully understand Crimson's opinion since I havent lived his life or in his mind, but its really foolish to believe you know whats best for everyone.

in the end an empty, shallow joy, rooted in unreality.

no matter what a drug users claims and tells you, the "happy" reasons he is doing drugs ... its false.

I would dare and go as high as 100% of drug users, use to "escape" their daily "reality" which is hard for them to deal with.

sensations achieved through drug use is NOT reality ... it is an ideal of some sorts ... and when that becomes really great ... well ... addiction comes into play.

I agree with Crimson ... work on changing your "reality" by other means ... "tangible" means ... drug use just delays the innevitable.

Believe me I am not talking out of my ass like some of you claim and am not influenced by the "media" ... I grew up with this shit also and seen many a freind with the exact same diatribes like some of you ... well ... go down the shitter.

if you're going to go there...

self-destructive behavior - if it's not going to be drugs, it's going to be something else. It's a shame to hear that you have been acquainted with so many weak individuals (not all of them I'm saying, but from what you say it seems to be a large number), that without drugs and alcohol, they would have found another means to ruin themselves.

I will freely admit I did drugs for fun as well. some of the absolute best times of my life have been with friends, passing around a pipe.

but that's just me. I'm sure I have many deep seated personality disorders which account for this.

lizard... very similar to my situation. It makes me proud that I may grow up to be similar to you sir.

I've heard all the arguments against drug use. I've had friends die of overdoses. I've seen people and friends go to the bottom with addiction. I can say without jest that I have seen first hand the effetcs of drug abuse. Yet I still do drugs all the time, why could that be? Hmm perhaps its personal choice, not a black and white concrete answer. Opening your mind to the possibilty of lifestyle choices outside of your own isnt bullshit, its not a fantasy concept, and its not difficult.
And this threads really just going in circles now, its likening to a debate of athiests versus christians.

i think we all dabbled, and I am not saying anyhting is wrong with that ... shit ... I am crazy enough to even tell my kids, if I ever have any, to try shit for themselves.

but I think when it becomes a "hobby" where you know waaaay too much shit about drugs, like what to take when and for what reason, etc. (like some of you in this post) there is a line that has been crossed.

and when you ask for money online to pay for your electric bill and have 2 kids in the house ... well ... something is avry.

Are you thinking about it though? I like hearing about peoples "Am I going to do drugs" pondering. Its more interseting then argueing about somthing that neither side is ever going to see eye-to-eye on.

I'm not particularly against it but the circumstances would have to be very right, and there are only some drugs that intrigue me, mainly Psilocybin and to a lesser extent Salvia Divinorum... both of which are legal in Sweden, for what it's worth.

EDIT: Maybe Psilocybin isn't technically legal, I forget... The mushrooms grow fuckin everywhere though and it's kinda hard to tell Mother Nature they are bad and illegal, huh

Wtf Shroomies are legal?

EDIT: Woah, ninja edit. didn't see that.

if I were you Erik ... I would try to figure out how to score some pussy on campus ... far more addictive and it will open up some reality in your mind that will drive you far more bonkers then drugs will :loco:
