Shoegaze

As far as recent shoegaze type stuff goes, I really enjoy bands like Rumskib and Alcest. Two of the best albums released this year are The Daysleepers' debut album and M83's Saturdays = Youth, so if anyone is looking for more recent stuff definately check out these two.

All the main bands were discussed. I don't know if they're totally considered shoegaze, but sometimes-Mazzy Star. I really enjoy that band. "Five String Serenade" is an awesome freakin song.

There's also shoegaze black metal all over now. Such as I Shalt Become. Really good stuff for anyone interested.

I'm gonna guess the big bands have been mentioned so. THE ANGELIC PROCESS. >O They're not entirely shoegaze, more like some shoegazey/droney/psych mixture but they fucking own.

Anyway, the genre pretty much died for about 10 years, but recently bands such as Rumskib ( http://www.myspace.com/rumskib ), Daysleepers ( http://www.myspace.com/sleepwalkintotraffic ), Sway ( http://www.myspace.com/mywinterheart ), and Bethany Curve ( http://www.myspace.com/bethanycurve ) have reignited the torch sadness.

Alright. So, I finally checked out Sway and they are amazing! Is there anywhere that I can still get Millia Pink And Green? This music is incredible and I NEED a physical copy of their EP. Seriously. I absolutely hate when I discover an amazing band that inconveniently has no physical copies of their music.

Also, do you know if the band is still active? It's hard to find any information about them, and I'd hope that they would consider releasing a full length.

Check out Lush's "Split" album, there's just some amazing songwriting on that one and features alot of diversity from poppy songs to very dark moments, definetly the best in the band's career. Spooky would be more/less a pure shoegaze album, I like the atmosphere on that one.

Hmm... I just checked Tonevendor (usually the best place to find these sorts of albums) and they are completely out.

I would contact them through their Myspace to see if they have any copies available... I wrote to them awhile ago and they replied rather quickly.

And yes, apparently they are still active! That electro-ish song on their profile is new, and when they wrote to me they told me they were working on more new material.

Thanks! If anyone had it, I figured it would be Tonevendor. I guess contacting them through Myspace is what I'll need to do. I'm glad that they are still active; now all we need is an album.
