Ive been thinking about this for a while.

If they still are making good music I dont care if they do.

wouldnt help ...
maybe they're labelled as metal but who knows them outside the metal scene ? so there's no point in changing the name ... Anathema is neutral as a name , doesnt sound aggresive and many people dont even know what it means ...
no point in changing IMO

thats the point. nobody knows em outside the metalscene.
But the name prevents them to sign better contracts. Its like this: ah if you change your name we can do something. Because bigger labels arent keen on bad names.

I mean it doesn't make much sense to think about changing the name, it won't work. And if I remember well, Danny said not long ago that he doesn't care anymore for the cash, and that's good. In general, all this would mean that a change of the name would be for pure commercial purpose, and that's bollocks. And for outsiders, well, if they don't know the name they don't know they have been metal some years ago, so that can't be a problem. And like Arno said, the name isn't 'scary'. That's why I chose 'no'

fuckin nationalism.
its not because danny said he dont care bout the money they cant/wont be big.
BTW why should you care at all if they change their name? Its just a name.....

but I dont think it's a bad name !!!! like i said , it sounds neutral , even soft to pronounce and 9 people out of 10 dont know what anathema means ... or am i taking people for fools ??
Coldplay may be a bad name from that point of view ... cold ... cold isnt good , cold is related to winter,diseases,flu,gastro-enteritis,sadness,depression,suicide,doom and weeping in the graveyard's wood by moonlight along with the wolves horde :D

my problem is this...
we could write the best album of our lives. full of the best tunes and best lyrics we ever did. it could be experimental and different and still ALOT OF METAL FANS WOULD JUST SAY IT IS TOO SOFT!!!
this is fucking frustrating. maybe we'll change the name and maybe we wont. i just wish we could be ourselves without people saying (why did you change????more stuff like alternative 4!!!NO!!!ETERNITY!!!NO!!!!!THE SILENT ENIGMA!!!!!!!)

FUCKHEADS;)

and the other thing is most people dont use the word anathema, or know what it means. which can be a pain in the ass when someone asks what the name of the band is.....

'anathema...
'what?'
'...anathema...'
'whats that mean?'
