anyway i'll keep buying the albums ,whether the name changes or not, as long as the music is good !
If one day Anathema makes a shitty record I'll download it and burn it on a CD !

BTW metal fans who think it's too soft are ... metal fans !

and the other thing is most people dont use the word anathema, or know what it means. which can be a pain in the ass when someone asks what the name of the band is.....

'anathema...
'what?'
'...anathema...'
'whats that mean?'
Yeah what you say are right but don't you feel emotionally connected with the name?

no mate i didnt say ' I DONT WANT THEM TO ...' i said ' WOULD BE POINTLESS IMO '

If the name changes that's their problem not mine ;) I'll still be a fan untill they start ripping-off Avril Lavigne's riffs ;)

i've been doing it for a long time so of course i feel 'emotionally connected' to it.
its been a very big part of my life since 1990.

i had another idea. but that might be for me solo stuff, i'd tell you but someone would nick it.

'to nick it' = 'to steal it' in English ?
I'm asking cause it means 'to fuck' in French  ( but true )

Of course not! They already have one of the coolest names in music. They shouldn't change their name to The Green 83 or something stupid so they can sell millions of records. If "mainstream" can't appreciate the incredible music of Anathema, it is their loss.

Danny, don't care if you change the name or become softer - imho the most importand thing is to keep doing your thing in music - to keep it emotional and that...you know...
Also i would ask are you planing to add some electro elements into the future recordings...i'm afraid that something like Paradise Lost would happen, and i'm not sure whether will like it, but will see - Antimatter are like that and I LOVE them...

That was a big no. If there's anything I wouldn't stand it would be Anathema using electro samples
I have nothing against uncommercial techno in general but come on, Anathema is beautiful as it is now and doesn't need techno samples, it would ruin the current feelings and atmospheres in the music imo. There's always Antimatter to do some electro experiments, it even fits the music.
