Should i get the 360 or PS3?

Ridiculous arguments such as that some of the largest game developers in the world seems to agree that the PS3 is to expensive to make games to due to expensive licensing and development times?
Are you saying that you have more experience and understanding of the procedure of creating games then Gabe Newell and John Carmack?

The reason this "blowhard" is talking about excluding the PS3 is due to that fact that they do not profit from making games to it, due to several reasons:

1. Expensive licensing.
2. Long development times due to it being hard to program, and constant crashes during development.
3. Not as many people use the PS3 as the xbox 360(Lame reason, but in the end it makes the sales drop.).

This means in the end that developers dont gain nearly as much profit from developing games to the PS3 as they do to the 360 and PC.

NAMCO has been with Sony since the PSOne.. so thats a pretty bad example in my eyes, and the only NAMCO game im the least bit interested in is Tekken(Which is available for the 360 as well.).
Im not arguing that the PS3 is the better machine here, i think you've misunderstood me there.
But the leading developers AND publishers _HATE_ the PS3, which makes me doubt how long it will live due to the fact that both developers and publisher probably will drop it.
Unless Sony does something drastic, i think that they will be in deep shit.

Seriously, grow up.. if you are so fucking offended by my research about this console, there must be something wrong with it.

The only advantage the PS3 has is its hardware advantage, which the developers dont seem to be able to utilize:

Oh yeah, the PS3 absolutely smokes the 360 with its powwahfull hardware!
.. oh, wait a minute!?

:rolleyes::lol:

Seriously, those pictures pretty much sums it up.
There is a reason why those games look worse on the PS3, and its sure as hell not the hardware.. but i guess im just buying the BS that you can find online regarding the developers having to cut corners for their PS3 ports...

Don't judge your opinion solely on these pics. Look at some comparisons on gamespot, like this one; http://www.gamespot.com/features/6171831/index.html

Look at the 2nd screenshot, same game as one of you screenshots, but now it's in the ps3 version that we see the lines, and not in the 360 version. Honestly, both consoles graphics are the same damn thing, some games look better on ps3, some look better on 360...And if you don't have HDTV like you said, there would be absolutely no differences between both.

And could anyone tell me what are the advantages of Xbox live vs PSN? I'm not bitching, I just wanna know the reasons why you think XBOX live is so much better than PSN.

Seriously, I took a ps3 because the ps3 excluvises interested me a lot more than those on 360, and I wanted to play online just a couple of times each months, so free online gaming was a big advantage too.

360 exclusives:

Halo
Gears of war
Fable 2
Left 4 dead
Dead rising
Mass effect ( the only one I miss on ps3)
Splinter cell 5 (euh this one too)

PS3 exclusives:

Mgs4
Heavy rain
Final fantasy 14
MAG
God of war 3
Uncharted 2
Gran turismo 5

The choice wasn't hard at all for me.

Actually Max, FFXIII (13 ;)) is gonna be on both systems - and Notuern, I do think you're worrying too much about the future of the PS3 as far as developers go, because I would say the majority of multiplatform games have been pretty much identical on both systems (judging by reviews), and I highly doubt whatever extra costs developing for the PS3 incur would outweigh the vastly increased customer base of releasing a game on both platforms (in other words, developers have found and will continue to find ways around the "difficulties" of developing games for the platform). So again, IMO exclusives should be by far the main criterion in your decision-making process! However, this might also be of interest

Well you're doing biased half assed research and that's the point... but the last two posters have clarified my point exactly. You REALLY fucking think Activision's gonna stop making Sony games? Thats just ridiculous.

the activision guys are known douche bags... even IW bitched about them a bit while making MW2.

Just get the 360

I will never get a 360 again. I bought one about a year ago and it red ringed. I sent it in and got another one and it red ringed. This process repeated over 10 times until I fucking gave up on Microsoft and bought a PS3 and it has never had any issues at all.

Read all my posts.. im not judging my opinion solely on those pics, those where only a few examples.
What im basing my opinion on is the fact that neither developers or publishers like the PS3, which is a very bad sign if we are talking how long lived this console will be.

About Xbox live.. well, i listed it as a disadvantage, one of the things drawing me towards the PS3 is free online game play.
I cant remember advocating Xbox live at all.

Im just _VERY_ skeptical to its supposed advantages over the Xbox.
The hardware is there, the software is not.. and im doubting that it ever will be considering that John Carmack(The God of coding games.) said its so hard and unstable to work with during development that they end up cutting corners(Gabe Newell saying the same thing doesn't make it much more promising.), and the fact that the worlds largest publisher has had some major issues with it.
So even if it works out for the PS3, im doubting that it actually will have an advantage over the Xbox in the end, due to developers cutting corners everywhere.

As far as exclusives go, this is what ive found that i want:

PS3 said:
Killzone 2
Twisted Metal

360 said:
Fable 2
Fable 3(Upcoming game.)
Gears Of War 2
Halo 3

So im probably going to get an xbox.. not having free online-play or factory default keyboard + mouse support sucks, but it seems right at the moment.

Well if these 2 games are the only exclusives you're interested in, get a 360 without a doubt (killzone 2 was one of the worst game I've ever played, absolutely no storyline, just go forward and shoot)

No, i am not.. ive tried to be as unbiased as possible in my research about the consoles to find out what suits ME.
Im perfectly aware of the flaws within the 360, and im very well aware of that it has some pretty huge issues that Microsoft has just ignored.

No, i dont think Activision actually will drop the PS3, but im pretty damn sure that they wont spend enough money in porting their games properly to the PS3.
As i have already said: The 2 biggest fps developers in the world thinks the PS3 is a pile of shit to work with, and have said that their ports suck simply because its to hard to work with it.
Take those 2 developers and combine that with Activisions critique aimed at Sony and it starts to look even worse.

Now take in consideration that there are very few developers to the PS3 as to the 360, and that they dont have any developer support, which in its turn makes it more expensive to make games to the PS3 forcing developers cut corners due to lack of funding.
And its like that the 8th generation consoles will be released late 2010, making it even less likely that the PS3 will gain more attention from developers as they probably will move on to the newer platforms instead.

Well, as i feared this is turning in to the PC vs. Mac wars.. except im not defending either part right here, im just stating whats making me lean towards the 360 so far.

The reason why alot of multi platform games don't look as good on PS3 is because alot of games nowadays are developed on an xbox and ported over to ps3. I got that info first hand from a major dude at EA.

I would go with a ps3:

- i prefer the controller
- The online is free
- Shares a ton of the same games as the xbox, has some good exclusives.
- Build quality is better than the xbox

the only thing that the xbox holds over the head of the ps3 is it's exclusive games. GTAIV DLC, Dead rising, etc.

Thankfully i own both systems, but when i have the choice about which system i want to buy a game for I go with ps3.

No ingame mouse + keyboard on games is a GIANT plus of 360 IMO, and I love FPS. Allow different inputs basically allows a huge advantage to some and ruins the game experience, it´s not difficult to see why.

Didn't feel like reading the whole thread to see if it was pointed out, but the PS3 runs on Blueray and the 360 runs on DVDs, and as games contain more and more information the 360 is going to fall by the wayside while the ps3 continues to be relevant. Rockstar already said they were hitting the brim with GTA4 because of the 360 being limited to DVDs. Also, games like Metal Gear Solid 4 will never come out on 360 because they would require 5 discs.

Lastly, games released on both systems tend to look better on the system it was being developed on first. Most developers, since the 360 came out first, put their focus on that machine before the ps3 and therefore the games are catered a little more to the 360 and look better. It was the opposite, where the ps3 edged out the 360, on the few games that have been developed the other way around.

Fallout was a much bigger game in terms of filesize - no problem. They will release the game of the year edition which will contain all new chapters. I don't think they're running into problems with the size. Besides that: It's not DVD. It's DVD DL which is 8gb space.

The only reason they would need 4-5 dvd for metal gear solid is because of the cutszenes which take all that space.

And games looking better: In direct comparision most major releases look sharper on xbox 360. a lot of games on the ps3 don't even have 1080i/p (I've heard that from a friend who owns a PS3 and 40+ games so this is not 100%legit).

I wouldn't really worry about disc capacity, by the time it really becomes a problem for the 360 there'll be a new Microsoft console out that makes use of higher capacity storage media.
