After reading an interview with Mikael saying SW will most likely produce the next album, I think it could be interesting to know what the Opeth fanbase thought of that, so cast your votes.

i think he really can help make this a good album. even if it´s gonna be a black metal album as mike has talked about. all you people who have seen the documentary know about that "wind-sounding" kind of thing on wreath he fixed up. hes great at those kind of things

Yes. he is an amazing producer, the sound on Blackwater Park is amazing. If people are thinking "no, he shouldn't" because they don't want Opeth to do another "copy" or SL or BWP or D1 (although i don't consider them "copies" at all, a lot of people think so), i think that both Opeth and Steve know that they have to try something a little different for the next record. That's all I want.... i wanna hear some interesting progression, and if i can here that with Steve producing, it would be awesome.

THey should move on. SW is a great producer...but I'd like to see them give soembody else a try with them. Or...produce it themselves. Given the demeanor of the band in studio though..I doubt that would ever happen.

I think they'd grow more as musicians on there own, but i'm prefectly happy if SW produces and adds his influence. It'll sound fine either way.

Let Dan Swano take a crack at it though! AGAIN!

Why shouldn't he keep on producing them? He's done everything perfectly so far. I think he and Mikael really click and know exactly what eachother is trying to convey. Remember he doesn't write the riffs so don't blame him for the more simplistic riffs in Deliverance.

"old school" aside, I like a band that evolves....and therefore think that BWP and Damnation/Deliverance are their best yet....and I believe this is partially owing to SW's input/production. Now....as to switching just because that's getting "stale" or some such thing...I say....not gonna happen. Listen to the broad and sweeping changes that SW has made in Porcupine Tree over the years. It's hard for me to believe that he (and Opeth) would just wanna crank out the "same old thing..." I say, these are a fairly visionary, uncompromising bunch. So, stick with it. I'd love to see SW on the next album. Then again, as was said above here, I don't really care either way.

Actually I voted #1 (yes), but he should have but an advising task. He did a very good job with Opeth. I won't resent another collaboration, but it isn't necessary. Because Opeth proved they can manage to write excellent stuff without his help whatsoever.

I love what SW has done with Opeth, he adds these great atmospheric elements to the songs. The production has sounded perfect since his arrival.
