Fuck yeah, seeing as this was my idea, I'm all for it. It'd be funny to see the guys not take themselves too seriously and have a bit of fun

Exactly, Moonlapse has it right, i dont want them to start wearing chain-mail, spikes gallore and burning churches even though i wouldnt mind the burning the of the churches thing, i just wanted to see them in it live next tour. Corpse paint is not for opeth or really any band. Who needs an image to sell records. Before you say Opeth promotes a certain image they are normal people and dont need the clown paint like Asgeir from Borknagar calls it.

It makes all the sense. I actually don't listen to any band at all that has clown paint on and it isnt because of this reason. It just happens to be I don't like the music behind those bands anyway. Lucky me eh? So to answer your question there are NO good bands with clown paint that play any music in my particular tastes and to be totally honoust it makes me laugh when people take those bands seriously. If Opeth put that cp on I would still listen to them but I wouldnt take it all too seriously but that depends on what music they play. If it was straight out BM then I would kiss it goodbye.

Thats a pretty general statement. Corpsepaint is an important part of black metal. You dont have to like black metal, but taking something illogical seriously is not uncommon. He gave metal a bad name and so did the Norwegian BM scene with all the killings and church burnings. As far as I understand that is not a part of music mmmm?
To be totally honoust I think that they were more towards rap music in their images and what they were doing for the said music than for metal. So what if they are extreme. There are a lot of bands more extreme than Mayhem that don't do it for image but for music which is what my point originally was all about. If corpse paint IS black metal then I want nothing to do with it. So to any BM people who hate slipknot or rap (of which I can't stand)for image then you better look in the mirror.
I feel a flame coming on from all you troo bm warriors hehe
