So how's it going?

fuck organic food. It's an excuse to charge you more for shittier stuff. ALl of the organic produce we sold was total shit. It was half rotten when it arrived (and that was the good stuff, the cheap organic stuff was like... 10 good oranges to every 160 in a case). Oh, and its not pesticide free, this guy who took most of our produce scraps for his chickens and goats also ran an organic farm. It's simply a matter of crop dusting on windy days so that it blows onto the organic stuff.

you sold shitty organic food sorry  Alot of the bullshit you find in stores marketed as "Organic" and "All Natural" really isnt though, its true.

i dunno, sandwich and a cookie there costs about the same as anywhere

it's not like i'm going in to buy the organic wheat germ HealthPuff cereal, all that crap is for gullible yuppie-hippies

whole foods rocks :erk:

their bakery and deli are way good

Whole Foods and Fresh Fields do have a lot of good food, and alot of it actually is fairly true to the actual term of "Organic." Its a safe bet that anything you buy at large chain grocery stores like Food Lion labeled "Organic" is far from the truth.

nope, health food stores up here are basically pharmacies but with herbal shit and vitamins. Specific natural food stores are retarded.
What makes me laugh is that there is literally NO evidence that any of that shit does anything but pass right through in your piss. Whatever floats their boats but there's a reason why the FDA won't touch it - because none of it does anything. lol @ that Andrew Wiel guy

Yes it is more expensive, but real organic food is not overpirced, its more difficult to grow so they have to charge more than these idiots pumping food full of growth hormones.

really? i eat them on occasion and they seem very expensive to me. I used to work in a gourmet deli that sold similar stuff and it was way expensive. I dunno why.

that's what i figured. but, like I said, it's kinda pointless. I mean, if you got the cash, go right ahead. I just don't know anyone who can spend $1000 a month on food in the hope that they are eating pure healthy foods. What's even more pointless is that you have a higher chance of getting run over by a semi on the way to the health food store than you do of the "health" food keeping you from getting cancer and whatnot. any way you look at it, it's just a conscience thing. similar to driving a hybrid car. they're too expensive to make any financial sense but they're alot cleaner than anything else on the road.
like i said, if i had the money *shrugs*

$1000 a month? Well I know you were just guessing, but it does seem like organic food is a bit more expensive down your way. To be honest I dont buy alot of it either, I grow alot of fruits and vegatables at my house, and Im really not that adventurous of an eater, so I stick to my staple of things I know and like. I will say though that I honestly feel ALOT better since I've started eating healthy. Coupled with a little exercise I've gained alot more energy, gotten sick much less, and I really just feel better overall (mentally I suppose you could say) than a few years ago. Some of it is conscience, as I cant stand the idea (or the fucking taste) of some of the stuff I used to eat, but its definitely worked for me.

We budget around $400 a month for groceries. That's the two of us and our baby. And it's all Kroger stuff which is pretty cheap. A family of 4 could easily spend over $1000 a month by shopping exclusively at Wild Oats. Probably more than that.
I bet you do feel better. That's why I'd like to do it. Even if it's all psychological, which I'm sure it is. But, I have a pretty high caloric need and it's difficult to manage with just the cheapest stuff, let alone expensive organic stuff.

Yea If you shopped exlusively at at place like Wild Oats I could see you grocery expenses damn near doubling thats true. I always notice alot of the people in those stores are aging Yuppies with high end corporate jobs trying to extend there life span in there older years To be honest I dont think it is all psychological, mainly due to the fact that I have a high level of mental disorder. But just eating healthy foods dosent instantly make you feel happier about life, your right. Even if all health products were placebo's though, not putting some of the things that are known to be harmful from certain foods in your body is helpful at least.

white bread tastes like shit too. bread, in general though, isn't very good for you. has a pretty high glycemic index from what i've heard. yet, ive tried those high-protein, low glycemic-index food atheletic diets and i end up passing out from lack of energy. fuck it.

@en vind av sorg: youre right. i always feel like such a poor schmuck when i go (rarely) to wild oats. people look at me like, "your sunglasses arent gucci. how pedestrian".

Home baked whole wheat bread is good, if not, buy brown bread.

Only stuff we buy at herbal stores is vitamins and some shit for muscles (topical stuff... DMSO and Arnica Gel)... if you wanna argue that shit's effectiveness, come witnesss.... I'll smash your arm with a baseball bat, and we'll get rid of the swelling quickly.

Righty ho then...

- vacation (or any weekend music fests?)
LONDON in the summer. And then ProgPower in Atlanta, although it's really just going to be a drinking weekend because I'll probably see 2 bands at most.

- job (sticking with current or looking for something new?)
I really need a change, but everything else seems to pay less (and for me to do more work). So I might as well hang on for a little while longer until the wife starts working again.

- girlfriend / boyfriend (want one? dumping one? in between?)
I'd like a new girlfriend but the wife might object. [/Zod]

- most anticipated music?
Hammers, Iron Maiden, Agalloch (the CD version), Iron Maiden.

- watching the world cup?
Haha, oh yes. I've booked vacation days for all the England games.

- anything in general that is life altering in any way?
Just that my kids are growing older by the day.

do wha now? In all honesty, anything that is that effective is available by prescription only. The only thing over the counter that reduces inflammation is 1% hydrocortisone, or perhaps *maybe* 5% but I've never seen it. Extrememly effective medications must be prescribed by physicians because of the general rule that the more potent a medication is, the more substances it may negatively interact with.
