So my kicks are too weak, eh?

Argh, just realized I screwed up on exporting Mix 6. It's done without Ozone. Nevermind that one!

@wibi: Just look man, haha, I really can't sit here explaining it all again. Just look through my thread history, or search for it or something. It should be called PCM42 trick or something along those lines.

I used Echoboy with the 'limiter' saturation. Delay was around 13msec.

I thought the hardware was NEEDED for the PCM42 trick? Have you acquired one, or are you using software?

I'm using Echoboy to get a similar, albeit lesser effect. You're right a PCM42 is obviously needed for the PCM42 trick, but all you really need to do is mangle one side and you get a similar effect.

The best thing you guys can do is petition PSP to add the input limiter emulation in their PCM42 plug-in. I already bugged em, and they said that they would consider it given so many people ask... so.... KEEP ASKING!

In my opinion, 7 is better purely because I like it when all the instruments in a mix move as a "unit". As you said, 8 is louder (and I believe it has a little more definition) but 7 just blends really nicely. Either way, you can hear the vocals clearly in both mixes. Sounding great!

Hearing these mixes makes me wanna learn my shit and get into some outboard gear haha.

Amazing mix man, the kick is a little annoying in the high mids as mentioned before, but you said you're fixing that, sounds good :)

Try getting a kick tone like this:

This is the Holy Grail of huge kicks for me.

Really? I think it's a little sub heavy

EDIT: sorry I didn't read the whole thread, the second mix, mix6 sounded best to me.

Favorite kick thread? aha, mine

No problem man! Yeah that sounds way better than the first version, pretty awesome man :) The kick sits just right in the mix.

Yeah the TWoAF kick is my favourite metal kick. Good choice there. I wouldn't call it 'huge', especially not compared to Beat it Upright or something with sub drops underneath it hahah, but for metal stuff it sounds amazing.

Good contenders for a winner 'click' kick are also in here:

And then for plain fat rock kick:

If you listen to the kick in my mix, and then to the AiC one, you might hear some vague similarities :)

But Randy is the king of drums. Between that Nickelback record and that AiC song, that's all my favourite drum sounds in one basket.

The way of all flesh is one of my favorite sounding albums EVER. If anybody has information about this, please tell me all you know haha.

Much better! The kick sits rly nice now! I would leave it at that otherwise you'll never finish :D
